I totally agree with the the theme of the videos. In “rolling in the deep” you can see her building a house. In “hello” she is there moving into the house. In this song, she is leaving the house, symbolizing leaving that part of her life behind. It is almost like she is sitting in the same part of the house she “built” in rolling in the deep in this video. It’s a very smart move creatively.

@LeHuy-hs2db3 жыл бұрын
This is my opinion, from the beginning of her journey "Rolling In The Deep" and the "Hello" the tone of the music video was very dark, very deep. "Easy On Me" also the same, but at the end of the music video, the transition from black and white to color. I felt like she said to herself and the world:" I have had enough, I want to move on, I don't want to suffer anymore, I want the best for my son". Which is brighter future, like the color in the music video it represents for Adele new adventure, new life and so much more.

I really didn't like her last album. It just seemed like she was using her range to embellish her words too much and that came off as unconfident to me. But this: I really like. So simply, honest and beautiful. Adele speaks to so many because she’s so relatable as a person and the songs she sings are all things we’ve gone through. @nonameface903 жыл бұрын
I have to admit I waited for your/other vocal coaches and commentators reaction on this :) Personally, I not like the biggest Adele fan under the sun, but I feel that Adele's way of making music, marketing of it is truly one of a kind in the current reality of "fast food" music and culture of consuming it. And I really admire it in a way. She disappears for rather long periods of time, getting back with the material that tells her personal story through musical lenses and by her own voice. Seeing quite a few opinions already in vein of "this is boring/nothing new", " I was not worth the wait of 5 years", "this is too similar to what she already made" etc., I wonder if some of these folks confuse their own personal expectations put on artists with said artists' personal stylistical consequence chosen consciously. Adele is a whole brand of music at this point - and apart from very strong public association on her voice/music style, even the whole look of it, it's visible that this is kind of material/aesthetic she wants to associate herself with, what's maybe more - it's an aesthetic that allows her to be honest artist in the best way. And I would never question it, getting results as "Easy on me". For those who complain about the song being good, but being the same stuff Adele already did/being boring - there are plenty of other artists around, also those who constantly change their image or musical style to choose from while expecting something different. What a lot of ppl really fail to understand this days is the stenght of consequence and confidence in it regarding music/being an artist. Is "Easy on me" in similar Adelesque vein? Yes, it is. Should this be punished just because of it? I don't think so. I feel that she writes new chapters to her musical story book in her own pace & time, with all of them belonging together, but shedding a new light with each song about her sensibility. "Easy on me" seems to encompass that retrospective/nostalgic vibes from her previous records, yet it has a different feel to it (maybe a bit of edge/grit about delivery, lyrical side??) which makes me anticipate the whole album even more.
@kconrad58933 жыл бұрын

What’s amazing is the placement, where she goes from hard staccato whilst still keeping a little of that low breath then back to just the low breath really fast. It’s incredibly hard to do and with Adele it just comes unbelievably naturally. That alone is worth the price of admission. Placement and breath. Wow! If anyone is interested in placement Christine Aguilera singing I Love You Porgy live at the Grammys is a masterclass. It’s really refreshing to hear Adele returning to a more nuanced performance rather than the very hard belting that she relied on on the last couple of albums.

Adele did an interview for British and American Vogue and she said there the song is for her son, about her decision to end her marriage. She knows it's gonna deeply affect her son, so it's a letter for him when he is old enough to understand to go easy on her, cause she was still a child, etc... Also represents the end of trilogy I guess. Rolling in the deep is black and white in a empty house, she is trying to find her place, to start there, in Hello she made it her home and now in Easy on me she is packing her stuff and moving out. Honestly amazing how she thought this through so well and connected it. Loved the song! And always enjoy hearing vocal coaches praise her work, she's an amazing artist.

What do you do when someone takes a slice of her life, warts and all, and expresses it in the simplest and clearest of terms before wrapping her own voice around it and offering it to you? There’s Adele laid bare - instrument, intention and invocation - making no excuses and asking no favours. The most ordinary words are given equally simple melodic patterns but carried upon undulating lines that soar and slide. It is not vision of fiction; it is a mother’s view of an episode from her past but with its gaze set firmly upon a future reality. All at once brutal yet beautiful, valiant yet vulnerable, personal yet universal in its artistry, Adele has once again crafted a gift generously and presented it with soul and integrity.
