I listen to GVF when I don't want to think about how upset I am (still) that my husband died last year. Josh's incredibly powerful and beautiful voice says what I cannot verbalize--he speaks for me! and def puts my mind in another place. That family of brothers is just incredible. They changed my way of thinking and helped me through the very difficult grieving process.

In an interview he said he got his sound when they were playing in the garage and he had to belt it out to be heard over their instruments.

Age of Alternative The story is that during band practice one day he let out a scream (similar to highway tune or Safari song) while competing with sound of the instruments and it was something he’d never done before so from that point he practiced doing stuff like that and it just eventually became his sound

I saw Greta Van Fleet live last night and it was almost like a religious experience. It was the most amazing show I've ever seen. I'm 100% straight, but fell in love with the singer lol. His voice is so damn amazing.

Just look at the guy from Avenged Sevenfold in his early days. Guy _destroyed_ his vocal cords through literal years of improper singing techniques. Same for the OG singer for Killswitch.

Oh yeah. They have definitely picked up the classic rock torch! They get tons of comparisons to Zeppelin, which is fair, but they clearly have a lot more diverse roots than just that.

Seen them live and they're absolutely fantastic! Sort of a folky vibe to their Zeppelin-y rock style and it's the BEST experience. I've rarely felt such an amazing vibe just throughout the whole venue. Highly recommend seeing them if you have the chance! Not to mention their playing is friggin awesome and their drummer is an animal!

Overfloable It’s a great song and band, but not so much an example of a competent vocalist. Cedric is wildly inconsistent and at times just downright embarrassingly awful. As a fan of the music I’m not slagging on it out of hate, but he really just isn’t a good vocalist.

The craziest thing about him is how easy he makes it looks. He gets so many comparisons to Plant, which is fair, but watching him sing reminds me of Jeff Buckley, controlled and effortless. Obviously he’s got great support muscles and knows how to use them. Can’t wait to see what these guys do in the future.

I am attracted to many different styles of music, but never really thought about what I like or why. It's great to have some technical knowledgeable input from a knowledgable person to explain the why and the how. Glad I got to experience them on their first visit to these Shores in Glasgow St Luke's in 2018. They were relatively unknown and we were right at the front. Seen them 18mths later in Birmingham O2 and it was packed out. Hopefully get to see them Live again soon but they're hugely famous now so it won't be an intimate venue.

During the 1970s and 1980s, I worked for a subcontractor at a nuclear power facility. Among my fellow employees were four young men who were members of a cover band called Borderline. Their lead singer, Scott Jones, could sing very well anything from Led Zeppelin to Queen to Thin Lizzie and others. I am quite sure that he never took any formal voice training but he was still able to sing and going to one of their gigs was quite entertaining.

Rumor has it that one day when they were jamming out in the garage, they didn't have a mic set up so Josh has to sing really loud to be heard over the guitar/bass/drums. That's when they realized just how powerful his voice is and that it totally works for their music!
