Being a big Blondie fan, I was a little bit nervous to listen to this, however I am very impressed! When Blondie performed this live, it always had a more rockier edge than the studio version did, and this performance captures the energy of that (check out Apollo theatre 1979 concert). Personally I thought Miley's vocals were a tad 'shouty' in places, but I am glad she put her own stamp on it rather than copying Debbie's style.

As you mentioned the original song was done In chest and head voice. And falsetto. she did the entire song in chest voice. powerful and as was noted moving around a lot when she even did the Nanana and the OOOUUU full voice I just was blown away. like you said it didn’t seem forced she had the support she knows how to sing and she’s got a voice and it’s powerful. I don’t know many other singers of her age that could pull that off. She kept enough of the original song to keep the integrity of it but also changed enough of it to make it unique and her own.

In mid and late 70's every single artist in the world was going Disco, even those ones that were from completely oposite genres. And Heart Of Glass is much known as Blondie's "disco song" because of that, even though in 1978 Disco was oversaturated and in the process of a free fall. If u were an artist at that time or you would choose to do it, or you would choose to bury your career. And I remember Dabbie Harry saying something about it somewhere, that it was quite unconmfortable because the industry pressure was unbearable. So Blondie and Mike Chapman came up with this brilliant idea mixing disco with their punk rock/new wave sound. That's why I think Miley's punk rock rendition was very fair to the music and to Blondie when taking all that context together. Miley nailed it.
