The end of the music video where she's got glowing eyes and swims away in the lake is actually a reference to the movie Jennifer's Body. That's one of the iconic shots from the movie. There's also apparently references to another horror movie called Audition from 1999 (the opening sequence with all the phones is supposed to be a modernized version of scenes from it) and the long black gloves she wears are nearly identical to the ones the "crazy ex girlfriend" uses in the movie. Also the cheerleader outfit is identical to the cheerleader outfit the mean girl, Lana from The Princess Diaries wears (and someone pointed out that that character in The Princess Diaries and the main character, Mia fight over a guy with the same name as Olivia's ex, Josh). Also the singing in front of a blazing fire can be a reference to Jennifer's Body or the Picture to Burn by Taylor Swift music video (and she's a huge Taylor Swift fan). I love that they put SO many references into one music video.

I personally do not recall any artist especially in the beginning of their career delivering such quality content. GOD, I'm SO glad that someone else noticed the similarity with NOT just Hayley Williams, but with Taylor Swift as well (especially with some of the 'soft' vocals). I love both of those women and their music so much. I easily see myself loving Olivia Rodrigo's music as much as both of them since she's already doing great work at such a young age :)
