TesseracT are really on point. I admit I had a hard time digesting them, the music is sometimes too atmospheric, experimental and technical for my taste of metal, but lady, OH, when they finally got me (I think it was with the song Nocturne), I am becoming a superfan lol

ye, same. You really have to get into them! I´ve seen them my first time like 4 years ago, a friend took me and i didn´t know them to begin with. I told him i didn´t like them, back then. 3 Years later he took me again and i loved them! It just took me a bit to get used to their style, now i am kinda inspired by how emotional they are (for me)

@sicboi805 жыл бұрын
The Altered State record was really my "Ah-hah" moment with them. I couldn't stop listening to it over and over. The atmosphere was just so damn brilliant on that one. I realize it was with Ashe on vocals instead of Dan, but it doesn't change how absolutely mind-blowing that album is.

I only recently discovered them and utterly fell in love. So good.
@sugoruyo5 жыл бұрын
It's not background music and it's not the super cerebral "what the fuck is going on?" type of music you get in other bands. They have a very "pop" style of vocal sometimes but they rely a lot more on atmosphere and "feeling" as well as the groove created by the bass and "djenty" guitar leads they incorporate. It's quite an interesting mix but it does require that you let it take you along for the ride. Rather than really listening intently it's meant to be "felt" to a large extent.

Martin Grech has done some absolutely amazing work, some of my favourite vocal performances. The classic is 'Open Heart Zoo' - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpvEaIiOiL-gptU But my favourite is 'Holy Father Inferior' - kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zn61e2htaaZ6jsk

For your own pleasure if you want a pure vocal experience, go and listen to D. Tompkins' recording of Allure with his other band Sky Harbor

Martin Grech is awesome! Out of all the singers who were inspired by Jeff Buckley, he's the one that sounds the most like Jeff. Open Heart Zoo, Venus and The Giving Hands are some of my favorite songs of his. There's a lovely live orchestral version of Open Heart Zoo on his channel.

I went from London to Stockholm to see Tesseract. Night before the gig my friends and I were in a bar and got chatting to these guys - turned out to be the band! We'd never seen them before so had no idea what they looked like, but they were really nice. Next day we're listening to the album Polaris, wondering what the set would be. Pheonix comes on, we're like "this has to be one of them - but there's no way the singer will actually hit the note in the middle of the song, it's too freaking high." Fast forward to the gig - the set list is fecking awesome, then Pheonix start. We're thinking, "ok, let's see this..." and OH MY GOD. He's got such an incredible voice, with an absolutely staggering range. It's insane. Check out Pheonix, live if possible!

I saw them live couple times and I exactly know what Beth or literally everyone who loves Tesseract FEELS when they hear the voice of the Voicalist. I felt always like flying when i close myeyes. In a distant world or space.

SO HAPPY you did one of TesseracT! If you really liked this song, I highly recommend you listen to the first song on the album, Dystopia, which transitions into this song as part of its finish. Its not quite one song, but it really needs to be heard in-place.

I was waiting for you to react to this band, made me smile seeing your reaction (you can't fake that), they have another song Phoenix recorded in the same studio. Dan Tompkins is easily my favourite vocalist, he has alot of colabs out there aswell.

If you love this band you will also love The Contortionist. I'd love to see a you do a reaction video to their song "The Source - Rediscovered." Their vocalist is one of the best vocalists in this genre and his performance in that song is absolutely breathtaking.

For me, TesseracT's overall feeling is like floating in space and taking a relaxing, contemplative journey in nature. For example, their new album, Sonder, makes me think both of floating in space AND driving through the most beautiful place on earth (in my book), the Allegheny mountains and the area around Pittsburgh. I'm a PA native so I'm a bit biased but that's easily my favorite place in the world. I took a trip there this past summer and listened to Sonder several times during the trip. The beauty of the ambiance and overall texture of the music just constantly fit. There's nothing like cresting a hill, being greeted with a beautiful valley view while hearing songs like Mirror Image and Orbital. But yeah, Dan is easily one of my favorite vocalists! His voice combined with Acle's writing makes TesseracT the best prog band out there, in my book!

Next song for a unique voice Peter Steele (RIP) from Type o Negative... I unfortunately haven't found a good quality live recording. However his voice is unique enough to warrant a studio reaction. Type O Negative - Love You To Death perhaps...
