The song is generally about individualism, finding one's own uniqueness from your passion. For me, it's a very inspiring song as an undergraduate as I'm still searching and struggling in my studies.

I relate so much with your comment ._. I was obsessed with Gunjou last year (was in year 1 undergraduate). That was when I was struggling with studying and catching up with lectures (not that im not struggling this year lol) and during the hardest time, I was looking at Gunjou's lyrics and I suddenly started to cry without realising.

Yoasobi defines itself as a band that turns stories and novels into songs. This specific song is for the blue period anime. and is about the protagonist's difficulties in making his way in the world of art and how to find his essence and the place to which he belongs despite all the difficulties and problems that follow his passion for art entails. art. although I have always thought that this song is perfect to define Ikura lilas, the vocalist of Yoasobi, since her story is that of a girl who sang in the streets and attended hundreds of auditions and despite all the rejections she did not give up and She is now a world-renowned artist. just a wonderful girl...!❤❤

The serious and sad lyrics to an upbeat tune is really common for YOASOBI songs, they do this to convey sad feelings with a strong impact, like the song is shouting what it really feel and what it is trying to convey, and most of those feelings is sad in YOASOBI songs. They aim to inspire those who are experiencing this sad emotions mentioned in the lyrics and give them some sort of energy to stand

I think a lot of joyful-sounding songs bear a sad but hopeful nuance. They end up moving us because they make us think of a person who is trying to break away from whatever is holding them back and the soaring melody communicates those ambitions and hope as it rises. I understand that you guys are listening to the vocals and trying to react as much as you can to the song but I do think if you give it a couple more seconds, you can hear that ambiguity in the melody itself. The song encourages the listener and seeks to inspire us.

The context of the song is a manga / anime called Blue Period and it’s about a soon to be high school graduate who is pretty good at academics, but have not decided on a major and one day finds himself becoming attracted to art. He’s a beginner but chooses to dedicate his senior year to pursue getting into art school, and he experiences doubt, struggle, illness, and much more to get to the point where he feels ready to compete with his collègues who have been doing art for much longer. This song captures the feeling and even moments of the show in such a poetic way Ayase is an incredible songwriter.
@dooshmasta Жыл бұрын
Also, Gunjo is the color ultramarine, and in the story, the character paints Shibuya at dawn where the buildings have a blue hue to his eye, and is successful at conveying it to others who understand what he was trying to communicate, and this first painting becomes the trigger to follow a future in art. When the color blue shows up in the lyrics, it’s a reference to what he felt when he made the painting and the commitment to the path he has chosen.

For everyone who was praising Ikura san's voice, OFC she deserves it. She IS the voice of YOASOBI. But man, the composer! The Composer is just next to her man!
This is the uniqueness of Japanese songs, the lyrics can be completely depressing or sad, but the music itself can sound super upbeat and exciting. Which is why it becomes a completely different experience (a lot more emotional) when you know Japanese and listen to Japanese songs.

Yoasobi's another song ,moshimo inochi ga kaketara, is also a sad story in joyful beats, but the combination between plots and music is more excellent. Recommended. Additionally, Yoasobi is a group transforming novels into songs. Ayase, the composer, and Ikura, the singer, are the main members.
@whuangjaison69312 жыл бұрын
I think the reason the song is "happy", because the main character in the story(yes they wrote the song from a novel which turned to an anime as well), was about to step out for the first time with blue color and he start to see his world with colors from the blue, instead of colorless.
