Vocal Harmony in Yamaha PSR - how to sing

In this video I will give you a basic tutorial about Vocoder feature called Vocal Harmony 2 in Yamaha PSR keyboard series. This vocal harmony feature is available for the following models of PSR-S and PSR-SX lines:
- Yamaha PSR-S970 and PSR S975
- Yamaha PSR-S770 and PSR S775
- Yamaha PSR SX900
It will allow to create nice effects that effect pitch of your vocals also known as vocoder.

I want to play a song as mp3 (karaoke file on usb) and i will play the lead with my right hand on right side AND i want to sing with sound effects like chorus are echo ect., how can I do that. I am using the chords left side, as i assume harmony effects can only be used if you ar playing the left side (chord side) keys in the song

Hello, I know four types of vocal effects in Yamaha keyboard: 1. Simple effects - echo, chorus, flanger, etc. 2. Accords driven harmony (left hand playing...) 3. Melody driven harmony (right hand playing, that type you show in this video) - hybrid between vocalizer and vocoder 4. Vocoder = singing instrument - keyboard takes only speech from the microphone and modulates it to sound of some musical instrument, so it sounds little bit as a robot.

I’ve had Tyros 3 and 5. The vocal harmony feature works differently in both. Tyros 3 gives harmony voicing according to the pitch sung…in the 5 I had to actually finger the chord voicing I wanted…am I missing something? Would like to upgrade from the 3 but want the vocal harmony that it contains. Did Yamaha change harmonizer between the 3&5?

Thanks for this video - very informative . Is there a way for me send three different outs to the mixer or DAW ie Keyboard voices , lead vocals and harmony vocals separately . Do you have a video that shows how to set this up that I could use in live situations on mixer and similarly for recording in DAW on 3 separate tracks ?

Good question. 3 track audio - not possible but master output is stereo to you can using mixer fade leads to left and vocoder to right and than split the tracks into 2xmono in DAW. I have used this technique many times then separating drums from style with lead voice. I am sure there is a video with looper where I am showing it.

Can you sing in tune like auto tune in vocal harmony I know in vocoter you can but it has vocoder in it not just your normal voice

Did Yamaha change vocal harmony engine between Tyros 3 & 5? 3follows vocal nite for chord harmony voicing. In the 5 I had to actually finger the voicing I want… very hard to use live

Differences that you describe seems like changes between VOCODER MONO and CHORDAL types, have you watched whole video, especially here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5u2h5KZerxmo8U Maybe it is only the matter of VH2 preset - I assume Tyros 3 and 5 have same features maybe they have changed default mode?

No. It is not possible. S670 does not allow to process AUX in real time.

Sir, I am from India. My query is "How to save a voice with harmony effect in a perticular bank of a registration memory in PSR S975." Everytime I tried, it remains on with all of the other voices in the registration memory. It's not getting auto off
