I don't know you, personally, Charlie, but your commentary and authentic, humble, passionate demeanor exemplify what I love most about humanity. It's just a reaction video, but it speaks of your appreciation for hard work and talent, for beauty and art. Your mention of a song that "saved" you is a raw moment that stands to save others. Bravo, Sir. Incidentally, that piece was a magical triumph.

Charlie - I think it's so cool you are humble and interested in the theory. Take it from a former music arranger, it's not an impossble task to grasp that stuff; you can do it. Yes, it is scratch-the-itch satisfying when you can see the "mathmatical" answers to what you're hearing. But the real magic happens in what you already bring a gifted, passionate listener and astute judge of true musicality, who communicates the human impact of of the greatness you deeply hear. BTW, You're the only music reaction person I subscribed to.

I finally found a Reactor that can express appreciation for the composer as well as the vocalists. I'm with you: I wish I could have been there. Silently in amazement. They hit certain chords that fill my soul to the point of tears. It's like an inner knowing - a connection to what is so innate, yet a place that I seem to only be able to reach through music. Music CHORDS in particular. I so love how you were able to call out the chords. I want to be able to do that effortlessly, without THINKING about it. You're my now favorite Reaction Channel. Thank you!

There it is, lol. Looking forward to watching this edit: thanks for covering this, figured it would resonate with you. I know you've listened to a decent bit of his album works, but Jacob (featuring others, oftentimes) has some really amazing acoustic performances here on youtube, that I don't think you've ever covered, if you'd ever be interested in more live acoustic performances from him. Off the top of my head he's got some TinyDesk performances and a similar one at Paste Studio, and also a number of mahogany sessions (aside from little blue & summer rain, which you've seen)

If you loved the resolution in the ending there, I have a feeling you'll love the (whole arrangement, but especially the) ending of Voctave's Disney Love Medley, featuring Kirstin from Pentatonix. Double checked to see if you'd reacted to anything by them and you haven't so definitely give them a look!! It's a worthy rabbit hole.

Charlie, would you react to 'A Rock Somewhere X The Seed' with Jacob and Aurora? It's so beautiful!!!
@emilyhutjesАй бұрын
Dear Charlie, don't forget to look at the song text that fits so perfectly with the music. I think this is the best work Jacob ever produced and the best choir to perform this. I also think (after watching his work for 14 hours) that Jacob's real talent lies in composing. Not so much in half covers, where he makes the audience scream along just for fun. The audience harmony is nice, with the occasional singer (M/F) on stage, but it's not very interesting.

Suggestion for something new -- I am a fan of early music -- music from the medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods -- and one of my favorite groups is L'Arpeggiata. The core group is mostly string players, but they bring in young, talented singers for projects. Check out their song "La Tarantella by Cristoforo Caresana", sung by six singers Céline Scheen - soprano, contre-ténor, mezzosoprano, male alto, tenor and bass. It's from 17th-century Naples and you can find lyrics and translation online.

Enjoy your choir reactions. You should listen to the Danish National Girls Choir. They have been on the go since the 1930s, so you know that they must be good. The seniors girls choir, DR PIGEKORET, have hundreds of great pieces, most from live performances. You should listen to their Come out and Play, River(Joni Mitchell), Magnum Mysterium by Lauridsen or Philip Faber, Blackbird or Lux Aurumque. Or you could try the DR Juniorkoret singing White water hymnal or The Rose. The childrens choir, are where the foundations are laid, so you could listen to the DR bornekoret sing Decembersang, or the medley Ride Ranke. I think that you would be surprised at the professionalism of these singers. Give them a listen as i dont think you would be disappointed. The childrens choir are 8-12 mostly, juniors 12-15, and seniors 16-22 years of age. I would really like to see a few reactions to them, as i requested a number, but unfortunately the choir are not too well known outside of Europe. Give them a try like i said, you will not be disappointed
