Vocaloid 6 : One Year Later (+Voicebank reviews!)

It's been about a year since the release of Vocaloid 6 as an engine, along with it's voicebanks, so I thought it'd be fun to do a "where are we now" kind of video due to some major updates made by Yamaha as well as releasing FOUR more voicebanks with the engine over the Holidays!

I agree so hard on needing control. But were getting 12 more free voices so i think when those are done we'll see v6 ending. Maybe 1.5 years to 2

So as someone who does post production, my problem with Vocaloid 6 over Synth v, is that the V6 banks sound muffled and whiney, they are hard to add post effects without making them sound worse, have mush mouth, or even more robotic. Meanwhile a semidecent tuned synthv sounds more natural, clear, and enunciated. Making it easy to post edit as backing vocals to a human singer or standalone. I am sorry, vocaloid needs to step it up, it has been 15 years...

the thing about V6 is it's AI feature... unlike EVERY OTHER vocalsynth software Yamaha forces the developers to use the same code for every voicebank instead of other programs letting the voicebanks developers train the AI themselves

I personally love these four voices, being Sakura my favourite, the only problem is that there isn't enough content of them yet, but it's pretty cool V6 has 12 free voicebanks now. By the way, i highly recommend this Sakura song: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKfdZaODfZ1_e5Ifeature=shared

It shares the notebend problem with cevio where it kinda breaks it and it needs to be done sparingly, they gave more use to pit. The off key thing can kinda be fittled with using the index settings. I enjoy using the expression tool and dyn to get more out them.

It's not your fault Luu I used the AI voicebank and I could tuning to not sound bland, yeah VOCALOID AI VBs suck @$$ compared to SynthV

they sound autotune because how sharp the pitch transitions are. To honest it seems like A.I. does nothing. In synthv the A.I. make things easy. just lay down notes in right places and going get a good result.
