I tried something a bit different with the editing in this film. Let me know what you thought of it, I want to get constructive feedback on this style of filming. Not so much whether you liked the overall film or not but more what you enjoyed seeing and what you didn't, for example loved the voice over but hated the transition at 10 minutes. Love you all xo

Great video mate, the fire's have been bloody insane. We were stuck at home because it was too late to leave, all we could do was stand and watch the wall of flames and smoke get closer and closer to us, when we thought it was going to swing away it started popping up all around us. We were so lucky to have the firies and a bunch of water bombers, especially the big Bird out of Richmond air base, there were so many of us that were stuck and saved by the firies and the bombers holding the fire back long enough for a well timed southerly. Some of the main fronts were under a km away, one of the servos blew up it was pretty bloody scary and we were the very lucky ones. Sadly a lot of people lost everything in our area and the two young firies that lost their lives crashed 5 minutes away from us going to a flare up, just heartbreaking all of it. Still can't believe the magnitude of destruction all around the country. It's been a rough couple months, so glad we have some rain. Hope you were not in the path of the fire's. Sorry for the long msg, just wanted to say thanks because your videos have been a good distraction, cheers.

Well said Chris. Thanks for bringing this topic to awareness and awesome video 👍. Here in the UK we have 3 or 4 places on the map for known gold. Some people will only go to work the known locations. They dont even stop to think where the gold may be coming from. They just like to get in the river move dirt and see some yellow. And yeah it almost guarantees gold in the pan every time this way, BUT YOU KINDA KNOW WHAT YOUR GOING TO FIND. Theres no better feeling than rocking up to a river not knowing what gold or gemstones it may contain if any. The first time I did this I chose a river that had some signs, straight away I hit the yellow and my friend pulled a large purple/red garnet 20ct plus. The feeling of actually finding one single flake here was more intense than finding 50 flakes at the known locations. I then started to mark out my findings on maps. The chase is now on to discover where this gold is coming from. Real prospecting is far more exhilarating than turning up at a known gold bearing location and paying an estate to pan little gold knowing there is gold in the ground. Dont get me wrong I still do go to these places where we know the gold is laying but only out of tradition and it gives you the chance to meet some really good people in this prospecting scene. The pan is a great tool and better than any sluice. People forget what a pans main use case is. They tend to get lost thinking its purely a tool to separate gold from dirt. They just need to look a little harder and will see that a gold pans main use case "In my eyes" is to lead you to the source. The pan will rarely make you rich unless you follow what it is telling you right all way to the source. So many look at a test pan and say to themselves good pan, or bad pan but if you just look at what's inside a little differently the test result will speak 1000 words if your looking for that source of the gold. Your post is so right and for my first year of prospecting i used a pan not to direct me but to accumulate gold and yes it's a very patch hit or miss style. Once you learn to listen to your gold pan you will never be far from the gold resulting in a much more methodical and rewarding experience. And if anything your results will continue to rise untill you hit the motherlode. Thanks for bringing this topic to awareness Chris 👍🤙🤙 #Listentothepan #Followthepan

Hello Chris,it's good to start 2020 with so much water in creeks You prospect.Watching this video convinces me again, that You would benefit from using a sieve I had offered to You.Now I have only 3 left (15 sold).Main advantage is:You don't carry the bulk of gravel to water,You dump it after agitating in the bucket. You carry to Your panning spot only sifted material and bring back up to 1/2 bucketful of water. When there is about 1/3 -1/2 of sifted material in the bucket water is too muddy ,so I pour it off and carry only that . You can rinse it again before panning.Good Luck in 2020,regards George (only reason I am offering these sieves on KZbin is, I do not know anyone who prospects as I do)

Chris your videos are perfect so don't stress that brain of yours and keep it fun for you. The way I see it you're a prospector out prospecting and I'm fortunate to come along for the ride so if I hear sloshing from the water or wind blowing the microphone or the gold not centered in the shot I don't really care cuz that's what I'd hear if I was beside you. As far as content goes the way gold moves is a basic rule it's those little exceptions you show us that make us better miners which takes me back to some of your old advice...... think outside of the box. Now with that being said I would have no problem with you setting your phone on a box and simply watching you pan..... easy enough!

I have always thought your editing style is really solid. The L cut was terrific. Most people won't really notice it, because done right, it feels natural to an audience like it should. Only professional editors will have a true opinion as to the quality, since they have done, or do it on a daily basis. Late again, I cant say anything bad about the editing, I like all of it, and I liked some of the silent videos you have done alot! But I have never made videos so I hope some of those folks who have chime in and provide good feedback.

Hey Vo-Gus, just wondering if you have ever had gold caught in the crevice of the gold hog flow pan. It looks like theres a trap on the edge against the base from front to back, after you removed the mat! Might be worth a look mate. Cheers for sharing
