Jail time is only necessary if the victim prosecutes. People don't press charges all the time. Maybe she would have felt vindicated if she did, but she never did, even as an adult. Any time the media purposely twists the story or leaves people asking questions, thats when the Christian train begins its guaranteed derailment. They feel because their need for justification supersedes the redemptive blood Jesus shed for all man kind. Robert Morris owes them something. He has been blessed with grown kids of his own, along with a multitude of grandkids. He made a bad mistake in his early twenties, which he has corrected with God. Thats ALLLLLL THAT MATTERS. Even though he is forgiven by God, it is hard to forgive yourself when involved in any type of sexual immorality, especially when professing yourself to be a Christian. You have to live with it the rest of your life. Painful as it is for all concerned. Scripture does say , if we confess our sins, Jesus will forgive, Pastors included. They were very young at the time, all of us have sinned and fall short. We all have made mistakes in our thoughts and deeds. I expect major problems ahead for Pastor Morris and I pray for the lady involved. In my opinion, the Church Board of Gate Way Church should recommend He step down immediately. I suspect he has already. Peace to all involved. The truth will set us all free.

If the church board recommends that he steps down. They should couple that with erasing the 30 plus years of his ministry, including all the sermons that he preached. AND lastly they need to make a public apology for putting him in the pulpit. That was their grievous error. The trustees at this point would be liable legally to contribute all of their personal wealth to defend every court case that might present itself. What are the chances that this will happen? Answer: NONE. Here is another solution. RESTORATION and FORGIVENESS on the part of EVERYONE, including all the 'stone throwers' on this page.

This happened over 30 or 35 years ago. Who hasn't got things they are ashamed of way back when. Sharing the whole truth is very hard sometimes, in fact, if it is in the past, and you know God has forgiven you, it isn't wise to tell everyone every detail, because this very thing may have occurred, blacklisted and condemned. Everyone of us knows that when someone accuses you or critizies you and you know they are right, even then the first thing most people do is defend themseves by making excuses and maybe only a friend is present. You know when it comes to this specific debacle.. this was too many years ago.. and it was something that happened when the pastor was not matured enough to be who he is today. I always say to the youth at the church I wish I had someone like me to help me the way I help you. Having said that, I do not condemn the Pst and support his angle of trying to teach the congregation through his past failures not many has the guts or can be open enough to their congregation. Being open I have found that it does two things, 1. Allows God to have space and transparency with the church. 2. Kills all cards and all ground that the enemy the accuser might have under his sleeves which in turn grants you a better standing with God. So I believe Pastor Robbert Morris should continue with pastoring, his teachings are life changing and impactful. I feel for the lady who has had to carry this burden over all these years failing to come to a position of understanding that it is not her fault neither is it the Pastors fault but it was an act that should have granted her strength over the years to be able to reach out to many others and save them and teach them about the signs leading to that point and how to protect themselves. Lady I am sorry truly but you are stuck in a past that was meant to be but not meant to still be at this point in time. Pst Donnie McClurkin said it best, where you are broken you remain there.. it's time my mam to get up from there and ask God to heal you, suing for money will not heal you besides bringing disrepute to the ministry..I know I can't express this properly but try to understand it and see it from God's view.. not to say he enjoys what happened no.. but it was necessary for the both of you.

I can safely say Yes to your question or response to my comment. The reason is this, if we are actors or just people playing a god-like character or just mere folk who are just church goers and not truly believe in this great God and the design of salvation and his teachings and His structured way of life by following Him then we will always be part of those instead of helping to heal a world or a nation or a people we destroy by playing the blame game and nursing feelings and listening to voices that will say retaliate and sue them and get money and expose them so they can be called fake and they must lose everything because I feel that I lost everything they should lose everything too. This is not to say that this is the victims stance, no, it is how things have been projected in this current situation. Furthermore I have been in a similar situation more than twice and as a result it has not only scared me based on my past experience over something I had no control over but that moment in time was so critical for me to be who I am today, reaching and helping and showing mercy and the level of kindness that I bring, the ability to protect those who have found themselves in the same situations and how to move on from here with Christ. I don't know how many rape incidents that have become a life changing point not only for that person but for all who see that lady or that guy as a pillar today based on an event that was undeserved but necessary for today, not fighting the raper but exalting God and being a beacon of light and life for many who held it in them for years dying inside if not commiting suicide. I took a stance to force my thinking and my way of life to be proactive rather than reactive simply because when I met the Lord Jesus I didn't just hear and think it was nice and play a role as far as my feelings are not hurt but I absorbed it into my system and made it my system.. it is no longer I who live but Him in me.. The scriptures and our great God calls unto us to be embassadors of the faith and the Gospel.. if the bible says This battle is not yours, why do you keep fighting?? If the scriptures say All things have passed away behold everything has been made brand new, why do we still live in the old past?? If Jesus teaches His disciples to pray and ask for forgiveness unto God conjoined with us having the ability to forgive those that trespass against us, why do we act in this format of destruction while hoping to gain blessings?? I am not saying let us not reveal past sins that the devil has us with in a silent fear filled corner but as soon as they are revealed then the devil loses his advantage. Ladies and gentlemen we are Christian believers and followers of Jesus Christ, if we cannot exhibit the qualities and override our state of nature Jesus calls is out when he says, My sheep they know my voice.. Please let us try to help this lady overcome this hold and let us try to show the pastor that we cannot change anything about our past but we can still change and impact the future for the better.. for generations to come. I hope I have made my point clear, it may not be received well or even considered but those that hear what I'm trying to say and see the difference this that I speak can have please help out where you can and let us get back to the presence of God where man and God can be in the same place(Garden) and be in sync. If you haven't seen his message where he tells about his childhood beginning at age 3, you should watch it. It will give you greater understanding. I don't think this sin was about sex it was about his past. Every person on the planet has sinned, and praise God that He sent Jesus to forgive us all! I greatly respect Robert Morris here, for being able to, as you said, use this issue in his past to help the people in his congregation. This was NOT just A sin. It was a LIFESTYLE of sin. And admitting to it ONLY when you are confronted is NOT repentance. It's damage control. Most who have had a lifestyle of sexual sin and only confess after being confronted, (with proof of some sort no doubt), will not have a change of heart as well. Even IF he hasn't actually engaged with sexual sin again, (something I genuinely do not believe because he also needed to be a perpetual liar and controlling person in order to cover it up for so long), I have no doubt that his heart and mind had never left the scene.

I believe that Jesus is faithful and true, and if we confess our sins, He will forgive us. That being said, the question that I see is Was he (pastor Morris) completely honest with those in authority above him and completely honest with God. Those answers I cannot give. His actions show that of someone who played politics in his job. He admitted immoral sexual sin, but the truth about the victim. I understand it sounds sooooo wrong that his wife called the victim and said she forgave her, but we don't know what she was told. If he came out and told the whole truth and nothing but the truth, healing could come. You can tell in this reel that he is scared to give too many details. Sad part is this could be a testimony of overcoming, but you can't overcome what you won't address. For her I would like to tell her that not for one second did God abandon her. He saw her, he loved her and is still waiting to heal every scar. Hers, too, can be a testimony of overcoming not just surviving. Take it from someone who was in a similar situation. The differences are my abuser was my step-father and my family didn't rally around me. I can't say what it feels like to see your abuser on TV living the life he does, but God can heal that scar also if you'll let Him. My prayers are with both for these reasons.

I totally agree with the perspective presented by this You Tube channel on this matter. Thankfully is is not our duty to condemn one's soul. Robert Morris did something that will tarnish his legacy on this earth, there's no denying. Sin has consequences though God forgives. There's the victim and perpetrator both are dear to God and both must be handled with care. There's need for healing and restoration of both parties. The Body of Christ however needs to be very careful in this as well, to not slander either one. Even there, is judgment for us looking in. And our enemy the devil can use this situation to destroy us, in our condemnation, apathy, and the divisiveness among other things, it can bring. I accept this this sermon presented by Morris though he didn't disclose the gravity of his sin. He should have dealt with the behind the scenes issues a lot more differently. That is harming him just as much as the original sin. I have at times followed Morris's ministry and I am in direction opposition to many things he's taught. I see them as dangerous and false. But I stop short of condemning him as God's son. There are reasons I won't go into. And at this time my heart goes out to him. And my prayer is that through this he will find truth on many issues. Much of all this as been about Morris. The victim I intimated earlier, needs healing and duty of care by all. May it all turn out for the glory of God.

Let's remember that Robert Morris was serving in ministry as a preacher when he molested this 12 year old girl, let's also remember he continued to abuse her for 4.5 years while still being in ministry preaching to the youth!!! He was already a believer and in a position of responsibility in the church! He didn't repent, until this young girl eventually exposed him! He was doing this whilst being married, but for 4.5 years covered it up as 'counselling' - no remorse whatsoever! He continues to cover up his true sins by using a lawyer to offer 25k, if she signed a non-disclosure, that sound like damage control and not remorse! He needs to be imprisoned for this, as well as the leaders of his church who covered this crime up, and more victims (if any) should also come forward!
