Ihsahn ist jetzt schon einer der größten neuen Komponisten. Mit Emperor hat er ein einzigartiges Werk erschaffen. Und das was er mittlerweile komponiert wird auch noch( sofern es dann noch die Menschheit geben sollte)in 200 Jahren gehört werden.

I assume people have mentioned it to death, but the title is "Manhattan" after the place in New York. The background of this song is pretty interesting. Ihsahn was the frontman of a big classic black metal band Emperor, then started doing his solo career and he always loved swedish pop music too, so this A-ha! cover was just something he felt right at this point. And Einar is in a band called Leprous, quite complicated modern metal band.

Just wanna add here, A-ha is not swedish, they're Norwegian. I know this might come off as cross, but we scandinavians have a sibling rivalry thing going on with each other xD. Also Emperor is not "Big classic metal band Emperor": Emperor are one of the bands that created the Black Metal genre, and, Einar, the guy singing this is Ihsahn's brother in law

Einhar as flawless as always. When i first heard this song it was random Spotify suggestion and instantly picked up that i hear Einhar. He is unmistakable with anyone else. Even more impressive live. Btw its A-ha cover. As recomendation i'll suggest Caligula's Horse - Graves. Absulute masterpiece.

This song was made by Norwegian band A-ha of Take On Me fame. Originally it is an electronic synth pop song but made in a more rock way here. The singer of A-ha, Morten Harket, is another Norwegian with an amazing voice. Not surprising that they chose that.😊

Einars Band, Leprous toured with another band this year in the US called The Ocean Collective, you may be interested in their music too. They do a lot of concept albums based in science and philosophy. They did 3 albums using paleontology and geologic history as a concept along with an album on ocean depths as a concept. If you do ever check them out, I say listen to either Mesopelagic: Into The Uncanny, Permian: The Great Dying, or Devonian: Nascent! Ishan by the way was collabed in the Rockefeller show with leprous in the song Contaminate Me! He does crazy screaming vocals and was in the band Emperor in the 90s.
