@Christopher Headrick It is hard to say who is/was "the best", as Whitney, for example, at her peak could do things, vocally that, virtually no one else could, including Morissette. Whitney had an upper register soulful vocal purity that was unmatched (my opinion). Morissette, however can slay any technical aspect of singing overall, hence, she is in the top 5 to 8 ever.

For beginners out there, please don't do this at home otherwise you'll lose your voice. Mori is a pro and next level at that. If you want to try what she's doing, sing at your own risk. But you can do this at a controlled setting where you have a vocal coach to guide you.

@@SpencerWelchVocalStudio If I saw it wrong, I apologize but it looked like you were only using one ear bud so if it was recorded in stereo, than you would miss the fullness of the recording and also her voice.

Haha I thought people would get on my case more because of the poor audio quality of my vocal recording. Yeah I was wearing one AirPod to listen with and to record my voice. I'm experimenting with different tech setups to record reaction videos. My Dimash reaction video turned out much better because I didn't record my vocals with the AirPod mic. I hear what you're saying, but with her lead vocal panned dead centre, I'm not getting any less information about her vocal quality listening with one bud. Yes, the vocal reverb is in stereo, but that's not what I'm listening for. The only musical element I am sacrificing (to a degree) by listening with one bud is the background vocals which are quadruple layered and then panned hard left and right. I started teaching singing remotely 25 years ago before there was Skype or Zoom over telephone speakerphone lol, so I had to train my ears to pick up everything in the voice even if I'm listening with one AirPod to a KZbin recording with audio compression. I will keep experimenting with the best tech setup to keep improving the quality of these reaction videos. Thanks for your input!

I think you should thank and give a shout out to those who recommended her to you, because you have just found one of the best singers/vocalists in the world today. She is 26 now, but she has been singing since the age of 3, and have been a professional in the music industry for more than a decade now, so she is not some amateur singer or one that wants to be noticed by singing in KZbin. Glad that you were impressed by her on this first reaction. Please check more of her music and her performances. She has sung a lot of covers, and, for most of us, these covers by Mori are even better than the original singers because she puts her touches in these songs and makes them her own. She also has a lot of originals, mostly written for her, but recently she has began writing her own songs together with her husband. The thing is, she is a cover killer, but with regards to her originals, no other singer can make a cover as good as her rendition. That's how good she is. Please check her "Akin Ka Na Lang" on Wish Bus, also "Never Enough", "Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw", "Secret Love Song", Bruno Mars Evolution Medley, and her original works in her EP "Signature", particularly "Love You Still". As a vocal coach, we would appreciate your take and analyses of these songs and performances, and, again as a vocal coach and teacher, we believe that you need to share your reviews with your music students, for them to watch and learn how and what professional singing is all about as demonstrated by Morissette. 🥰

You absolutely need to check out the Korean singer Sohyang. She's another world class singer who isn't well known outside of Korea (although she's well known in reaction videos). She has an incredible voice, she writes her own arrangements, she's a fantasy book author, and so much more. She doesn't approach singing the way many others do, as a career. She sings out of love, and the despite to provide comfort to those who are suffering through her music. This is because she is a cancer survivor, and as a result ended up becoming sterile. She credits her faith as a Christian for giving her the strength to get through things and decided to dedicate her life to giving that strength to others through her music.

Hi there, thanks for appreciating Morissette's vocal prowess. She's dubbed as Asia's Phoenix and had so many Concerts Internationally. BTW, have you noticed that she's singing while sitting? All the Pilpino Artists on the Wishbus are sitting, which defies Vocal Standards but they all surpassed it. And 99% of Pilipino Artists are not Professionally Trained, they just rely on their God Given Talents and kept on practicing since at a very young age and entering in all Singing Competitions until they reach celebrity status. About 90% of Singers/Artists on You Tube Reactions are Pilipinos and I hope you'll discover and react to them, having in mind that they are not Vocally Trained. Thanks a lot.

OMG how did you know, are you psychic? I also hold these poor, defense-less pre-recorded notes captive and study them, loop them, scrutinize them as if they were mere objects for our pleasure and education. I don't even give them bathroom breaks or a chance to stretch their legs. Eb4 and B5 couldn't handle the abuse and are now forming a lobby group "Notes for the Ethical Treatment of Notes, Especially But Not Limited to the Abominable Tendency of Voice Teachers to Separate Them From Their Kin in Their Attempt to Teach Valuable Insights to Other Singers."
