a little ray charles, a little Van Morrison and a bit of Bonnie Raitt - his voice is so textured but has such resonance too. then there's the rhythmic choices and his laid bad runs and riffs. Tasty phrases - I don't know that he maps out his vocals - sounds pretty improvisational - not unlike Amy herself. And in the quiet centre of it all - his voice is also strangely pretty. Listen to him sing Lose Control with Kelly Clarkson. She may be his biggest fan. She sings the harmony/backup response to his call and her voice is stunning and sexy and shimmery. Kelly's got rasp too - she's got every color in her vocal palette - she just complements Teddy so well. It's fire.
