BRAZIL - Hi Jake, I LOVE the Kazakh songs that Dimash sings, even more the folk. They are magnificent and always start from events, facts from history that occurred in Kazakhstan. With traditional Kazakh instruments everything is divine. I love MUSIC KUSNI KORLAN, WONDERFUL in Dimash's voice and also a true fact that happened to a Kazakh poet, about impossible love, a broken heart. Samaltau is maybe the most beautiful kazakh folk song he has!!! it is both so strong and sad and his interpretarion is great. Dimash has the ability to express and communicate the meaning of any song thus he makes us fall in love or feel the sadness of the song. His mellismas which seems to be arabic influence and in most of the cases are the expression of a big sadness (sorry lack of English words to express what I want to say) are unique and really out of the common. This song was originally recorded in China and also is a master piece that you should see it. Run out of words when describing Dimash' s voice. First time I heard it couldn' t stop repeating it again and again. Thank you for your nice reaction.

Something to keep in mind with this performance: Dimash is fiercely proud of his country and is passionate about sharing it's culture with the world. I once watched a documentary in which his best friend/brother describes this particular song as one that touches Dimash deeply, since the soldier in the song is around Dimash's age and it involves a painful part of Kazakhstan's history. So much of what you're seeing in him here isn't really acting, but genuine passion and emotion - you almost always see this in him when he sings a song from his country. Check out this performance of Daididau, which he arranged with his father's best friend as a teenager. Is it just me or during the changes of melody at 3:49 and 4:58 you can almost feel the thousands of conscripts being marched off, weary under the hot sun on dusty tracks, to the meat grinder of the front lines of WWI. This a tresure song of kazakhstan and Dimash sing this like no one. The musical instrument is from Kazajistán and name KOBIZ . This live performance with his instrumentalists friends is a firm favourite of mine. His live singing is impeccable like always, even sitting cross legged on a piano stool. As with many of Dimash’s Dears, I love hearing him sing traditional style Kazakh music- it really is breathtaking. It’s funny, with Daididau, there was a Gaelic feel in parts... as a Canadian, I have grown up with the opportunity to hear Canadian indigenous music also and the percussive pulse of Samaltau brings a similar sentiment. Dimash is a storyteller. He has that charisma that allows people to feel what he wants them to feel. He is - understandably - more emotive on stage (or performing in his studio) than he appears during interviews. In interviews, he seems cautious and a bit shy (not at all shy on stage!) - maybe I mean introspective? (Not introverted - there is a difference.). You’re right that these qualities make Dimash a good actor. Lovely reaction!

Yes Dimash has really strong stage presence and a good actor!!.. Like Ogni pietra he is like a matador!!, and Adagio he is like crying, love is like a dream he is romantic and sensuel (but always pure and innocent) and I only love you he is hurt and heartbroken.. My favorite is love of tired swans (not the music video, if you choose to wach this dont pick with the music video!) breaks my heart, I dont know why.. Maybe cos of the story. Swans are the only monogam animals we have. And the music is really amazing!!.. Also would be great to hear you react to the song by Queen "show must go on". When I listen to this Khastan traditional song, I cry. First bc of this young man's loss of innocence. I envision this teenager walking 15 miles bc of being forced to join the RUSSIAN MILITARY in the great war. Such a moving song done by a Khastan native, my YOUNG MAN DIMASH. What a beautiful way to remember such a sacrifice!! LOVINGLY SIGNED, A PROUD 🇺🇸🦌💋
