I think the change in beat/tempo that they used gave it more the feel of desperation/anxiety that the verse indicates. Most of their arrangements are done by either Geoff or Layne. This one is all Eli. It's amazing! Voiceplay always pays homage to the original, but puts their own spin on it.

These guys have an uncanny ability to suck you into a song and squeeze the emotions from you. Eli's arrangement is flawless. To me the mirror indicates introspection, questioning their own existence and whether they are even worthy of being loved.

A most amazing, emotional and vulnerable rendition. Brilliant use of Cesar and then Anthony in the start. Let us hope it doesn't take 3 more years for the next arrangement from Eli. His arrangement of Eleanor Rigby is very good as well.

This so phenomenally fantastic!! These guys can do anything and turn it into gold. Had to grab me a box of tissues for this one. Cesar killed it with his emotions and I feel he deserves a hug, Eli did amazing with this arrangement. I have no words. I mean They all put so many emotions into this song. I was crying through most of it, and I have cried everytime I watch it. It is already on my playlist! Great reaction!!

I don't think of this as inherently 'creepy'. To me it's meant to describe how many of us feel about ourselves, and our poor self image. And I felt they did a masterful job of touching those emotions.

I didn't like the original. I love this. Voiceplay is not cookie cutter in their music. If they can't change it somehow they won't do it. They put their own spin on every song they do. So its very hard to compare them to the originals. The tears on Cesar's eyes are real. His acting is phenomenal. Especially emotional. But that's my opinion. Everyone has their own opinions. Their own likes and dislikes. If we were all the same in that respect this world would be boring.

I loved this version, it is by far my favourite. as for the eyes , you can see that the mirrors have lights down the sides, just like ring lights, they are reflecting in their eyes, hence the effect

I never cared much for the original but Voiceplay made me love it. To people who say it's not like the original, you're right, it's not meant to be. You want the original then go listen to it. This is keeping total respect for the original feel of the song but with Voiceplays own artistic flare which in my opinion made it even better.

Always prefer an honest reaction. I love VoicePlay overall, but that doesn't mean I love all of VoicePlay all of the time - although I'll admit, they come pretty close! I'm not a complete fan of the song to start with, so suddenly having PTX and VoicePlay come out with near back-to-back covers was something of a shock to me! And the two covers are very different interpretations of the original, so most people will find something in each of them that they can appreciate.

I enjoyed this so much. They didn’t need any film tricks. The emotion was real. And, speaking about transitions, the section from the group shot to Cesar in a black background wasn’t cut. It was one continuous take. Prior to this, my favorite version of Creep was the one by Straight No Chaser, another acapella group. You might think about reacting to that also. If you do, be sure to get the Official music video version. (They encourage Chasers to video and post songs from their live shows. I’ve done it myself. But even though their live shows are terrific, the sound is never as good on the phone videos. )

I love both versions, yet although they sound completely different, they both carry the emotional status that I have felt in my life, but at two totally different times in my life (the original came out when I was a teenager, and well I’m not anymore 😉!) I think what you’re seeing in the eyes is a reflection from the lights that are positioned so as not to show in the mirror, but I could be wrong. Very good reaction.

I wouldn't say, that I like the uptempo more or less, but I'm glad VP did 'another' version. My favorite slow version of Creep is by "Mimi and Josie" (the two young girls at The Voice Germany) and so I got a faster version I like for other reasons (goosebumps e.g. in the "Lights & Eli" part). :)

I noticed on a few of their songs - particularly outside of the Medleys - how much they changed the arrangement. In some cases it felt a bit jarring, especially with a song I knew pretty well. I think... once you realign your expectations, and you go into Voiceplay knowing that their intention is to make it their own, it becomes less jarring; it's less "let's see how Voiceplay sings this song" and more "let's see what Voiceplay does with this song". On the second or third listen, you start to hear the song as their version of it; it becomes disconnected from the original, and I feel like you can appreciate it more. Call it a 'remix' if you will; it's probably an applicable term. The important thing is... when you listen to Voiceplay, you are going to hear voices, and you are going to hear play. Neither of those is negotiable.

Eli did the arrangement, lighting, production. I love this version. I'd never heard the original and went and found it. I'll take VoicePlay any day. Cesar had real tears. I had never heard Creep and love this. I checked out the original which was good but I love VoicePlay's version. Geoff thought the mirror would be a great addition, so Cesar brought his mirror in. If you listen to it a few more times you may warm to it. I think it adds hope which is lacking in the original.

I don't especially like the original song. This one IMO is much better; it sounds more like it's about people wrestling with self-doubt rather than actually creepy.

Agree! This is more introspective than the anger I felt in the original when it first came out. That might be because of the somewhat dissonant instrumental in the middle (and the video for it didn't help, focusing on the crowd). I previously had also liked Straight No Chaser's version, which had a feeling of 'Everyman' to the video (all the silhouettes), but the raw emotion in this one really gets to me even more.

I liked the original but not as much as this re-magining of it. It gives me tingles. And yes Anthony was in Golden Hour, 7 Nation Army, and some short ones. Yes those sounds behind Geoff's "body" are a great addition. Yes it's a different feel. less creepy perhaps, but more angst. More desperation. That's how I see it anyway. No lenses I don't think but they probably are emotional. A lot of people can identify with these emotions. And yes, it's different. As I keep saying, Geoff says that if they can't add something, why do it?

What would be the point in doing a carbon copy of the original? They make you feel different things than the original and I'm all here for it. I am so so with the original and just love this version. I don't like the ptx version at all

They have a good sound but not for this song. Not at all.
