I was just listening to this in the shower, and I realized when Geoff says "dial" he lingers on the first syllable so it sounds like he says "die" for a long moment, before he adds the "l." I adore this one. New favorite. It may be their best yet. 💙

I am glad that you noticed the colors in their clothing as being a homage to Michael Jackson. I like the comedic action as they're transformed! Cesar is "creepy cute!" Geoff is so spooktacular with his narration!

Thanks for this reaction to VoicePlay. Their releases are delightful...musically wonderful and just so fun. Kathy is unrecognizable in that makeup. I always love it when J. None is back with VoicePlay when he has leave. Geoff did a wonderful job with this project and especially narrating Vincent Price's part of the original video. Their acting skills are top-notch too. Notice the carrot through Layne's brain? A carrot was necessary since J was back with the guys! Spooky season has officially arrived!

Oh my goodness..Jeff withthat bass had my insides vibrating...literally. I actually had to pause this a few times just to let my innards calm down😅😅. Voiceplay has the theatrical art down perfect. As I said before, every a capella group has their own style, and they all are fantastic at what they do. Voice play is fantastic at their theatrical performances. Kathy was not only production manager but also the “floor zombie”. The “stunt zombie” was played by Gruesome Greta from the Halloween store. Rick Underwood, the make up artist, airbrushed her so she more closely resembled Kathy’s makeup. (It’s not like she had a close-up, but they are the masters of a small details. 🤣) The idea to have Layne kick her away was her idea. I think if J was not the featured artist for this, Layne may not have come up with the crazy carrot idea. He loves to torment J and the carrot is his favorite weapon. He is the Carrot Lord after all, I love the part that where J is trying to get out through the door, similar to the original Michael Jackson video (which I did go back and look at because it had been such a long time since I’ve seen it). I love how his voice is so tremulous like he really was scared that they were going to get him. Oooops! They did!😂 Geoff’s narration was top notch. It really had to be him to do that part. 🧟😳🎃🥕🤧👻😱🧟‍♂️

The infecting, changing into zombies, was actually Rick's idea, speaking to input from all sources. Such a perfect way to do it, he likely didn't even realize what he got himself into, since he had to get help doing makeup for this shoot. When you rewatch, look at Geoff's eyes after he is transformed, he doesn't blink anymore.

Rick knew exactly what he was doing. (He’s in charge of the makeup for Halloween at Universal Studios). He did incremental makeup for them in This Is Halloween. And if you check the credits you’ll see that often Renata is there to help when all of them have makeup.

The original will always be a classic, but i really enjoy this version as well. In terms of covers this is one of the best i have heard so far in my opinion
