VoicePlay + Halloween = EPIC FUN! I always seem to forget that Eli has such a huge range. It's fantastic to hear him start off with baritone growl and later hit high operatic. The Layne humor always gets me. Fun fact: Layne dragged tree limbs into the studio and Tony told him he'd have to repaint anything he scratched, and Elizabeth lost a nail while filming so they stuck a leaf on as a replacement.

Great reaction! I hope you go back and watch it again. Every time I see it I find more and more things. In the very beginning Eli was going to put a carrot into the pot that's why Elizabeth said no one flicked it away. Later Caesar distracted Lane with that old "Look over there!" bit and then he snuck the spider legs into the pot which made Lane intoxicated. Eli put that giant chili pepper into the pot which caused that cartoon whistle and hand flapping like it was was way too spicy. How Elizabeth can hit those notes with that fast staccato and make it sound perfect just boggles my mind. Lane really outdid himself with this one this was an absolute masterpiece!

If i can make a suggestion for a future reaction in a bit of a different style then what you are used to, but still very musical. Might i suggest Unleash the Archers. Their lead singer Brittney Slayes is a powerhouse, wailing up to D6 in a few songs like "Filth and the Fable", a Bb5 in the song "Tonight We Ride", and one of my favorite songs a B5 in the epic "The Wind That Shapes The Land". She also has some great lows, as she sang alto for many years. The band just won a Juno (Canadian Grammy) for their latest album "Abyss". Great analysis! I like the way you explain, especially the position of the mouth and larynx. I don’t have any training but it makes me pay a lot more attention when I watch the videos now. I was so hoping you would do a reaction to this knowing you’d really enjoy it. VoicePlay and HomeFree are friends - I wonder if there’s any connection between them both doing classical pieces in the same week. 🤷🏼♀️ Or maybe just great minds think alike! Rick Underwood and Renette work for PattyCake Productions. If you’ve ever seen any character makeup on either VoicePlay or Geoff, it is most likely Rick’s doing, along with others assisting him as needed. He is their go-to make up guy. I hadn’t thought of Elizabeth’s voice as being jazzy in the beginning but you nailed it. I was thinking of it is being like a torch singer. That sultry sound. Layne had just way too much fun doing this. I love how Layne, the carrot king, tried to wipe out his compatriots by tossing a 🥕 into the pot but it backfired. Elizabeth‘s beautiful clear tones really added a lot to this. I think that her voice was the perfect contrast for them to stand out. If those really high notes weren’t there I don’t think their character voices would’ve stood out so much. That’s just my opinion. All the sound effects just cracked me up. Another viewer commented that it was reminiscent of Spike Jones and his band from the 40s that used cowbells and klaxons and all kinds of crazy noises. Elizabeth Zharoff of the Charismatic Voice labeled Layne as burp-boxing. Those four noises 💨😪🤧💨 associated with bodily functions remind me of middle school boys. So it’s no coincidence that Layne, the undisputed class clown, used them - beginning with Cesar and his little squeaker.🤦🏼♀️ I thought this was an early Halloween release, but patrons at a higher tier than myself have stated that Layne is working on a Halloween 👻 one and was getting ready to film it. So two Layne (and probably insane) productions in a row! I can’t wait! Geoff also has one coming out very soon associated with the spooky season. A bountiful harvest.
