Geoff is double tracked in this song, he sings both the bass line and the lead. Live on stage Eli, J or Layne can step in for bass when needed. Eli voiced the Grinch in this video. The Grinch actor remains unknown, we suspect it is because it was a Grinch actor from Universal, who by contract are not allowed to work as Grinches outside the parks.

Adriana Arellano is all of 16, in this video. If I'm not mistaken, her next video with them was "We're Good" (Which was also Cesar's debut). And I was pleasantly surprised by how much her voiced had matured in the meantime.

99.9% of the time Geoff is double tracked in studio recordings if he has a lead and a bass line at the same time. While Eli, J None, and Layne can all hit bass notes, they only take over in live performances if needed. Both Layne and Geoff have confirmed this.

Well, for my 2 cents' worth, the 12 days of Christmas start on Christmas Day and go until Jan 5th. You can do Christmas until Epiphany with impunity!

Thurl Ravenscroft sang "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch" in How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1966). Geoff Castellucci is a fan of Thurl Ravenscroft; his cover of "Headless Horseman" is an homage to the Thurl Ravenscroft version.

I love the fun fact that VP to this day refuse to reveal who is playing the Grinch. Eli is doing the voice- over though. And Christmas season can extend until Twelwth Night.

In my house, Boxing Day is still Christmas. We eat about 50% of the food on Boxing Day, and I’m not talking leftovers. Things that we just finished cooking. We have a lot of food on Boxing Day, and we still sing carols and watch Christmas specials. So you’re good!

Always enjoy your reactions to Voiceplay, Jen! I didn't pay attention to that spoken line of Geoff's until just the other day (I've seen this a gazeillion times). It sounds like he recorded it separately from when he was singing, and maybe whatever settings (?) he had for the vocals was left out or different. It doesn't matter much, just makes for kind of a "huh?" moment. If you want to keep doing Christmas, try their Noel or Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas!

Another lovely reaction/analysis to another great Voiceplay cover. They truly go above and beyond with their covers to make sure they do them justice. On a side note, (I'm not sure if you're aware) the music videos you show tend to crackle a bit during the songs. Especially when they are started/restarted. Your voice through your mic sounds perfect so I'm not sure why it would happen just on the music. Just wanted to say in case you weren't aware. Thanks again and looking forward to future reactions 😁

If not aware, the song was taken from a TV cartoon animation special that aired originally on CBS December 18, 1966. Boris Karloff (classic movie vampire) was both the Grinch & the narrator although many attribute the Grinch's voice sounding like Jim Carrey from the 2000 movie. I guess it was the race for Christmas dollars racing first with well-written & produced 'Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer' (NBC December 6, 1964), then Charlie Brown Christmas (CBS December 9, 1965), Grinch 1966 & 'Frosty the Snowman' (CBS December 7, 1969). As one commenter already posted, Thurl Ravenscroft ('Tony The Tiger' Kellogg's Frosted flakes) sang the original bass version "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch" on the special. It was him singing completely throughout the song singing all the lyrics. It wasn't broken into sections for a group. (Interesting fact, he was accidentally removed from the credits. People thought Boris sang it, finally studio recognized error & corrected it listing him.) During the song, at one point Ravenscroft does speak the words and answers himself. If Geoff had done it in the exact manner, no one else could have been able to answer as it goes down & down, so upped it a little talking in his natural speaking voice.

I just watched this one last week for the first time. Voiceplay never disappoints. 😁 In my house/car Christmas music/decor starts November 1 and goes through January 1! Definitely still good for Christmas through the end of the year. ❤️ Flipping tables, huh? Interesting. I have a couple of ideas…. I think that the Gtonch is one of the character performers from Universal Studios Florida. I can not swear to it, but I di know they have connections to Universal. (Any performors here in Orlando have friends that can give them names of who to talk to. Plus they probably had to get permissions for the character use.) I am saying this because the costume and make=up is so perfecrly matching the character in the park.

Geoff is double tracked on the bass line during his solos in this song. You'll occasionally hear Layne/J.None/Eli sing a bass part in a VoicePlay song, but for the most part they just double track Geoff.

Jennifer! Cute little headband hat thing! Very festive! Well this is an interesting cover. Quite different from the original version. Very playful throughout though. Another fun and informative reaction! One thing as a 'constructive feedback' comment... I get a lot of static and dropout from your feedthrough (if that's what it's called). YOU sound fine. It's only the music you are reacting to that does this. It's a very consistent thing with your reactions (regardless of who you are playing). Anywayzzz... I really like how you called out the section where they go into that 'half beat' and the triplets with Geoff jumping all over! Later you used the word 'groovy.' First let's start with a kind of music that falls in the Folk Country and the artist is John Denver, the so g is Rocky Mountain High. Then let dive into a deep Country singer Calle Collin Raye and the song is : Love Me. Now for the POP side the artist is ABBA and the song is : Winner Takes It All.
