Russ, thank you for your commitment to dialogue and for bringing in guests from a variety of perspectives. I have appreciated the recent Israeli points of view (Yossi, Hillel), and would also appreciate hearing from more Palestinians.

I was crying the entire time listening to this. It’s painful to hear about so much suffering. One thing is clear: Hamas is not and was never good for the people of Palestine. Hamas is a parasite on Palestinians. If we chant Free Palestine, free Palestine from Hamas.

This is a brilliant discussion. I wish there would be more of. So many countless valid points As an Israeli who moved from the far left to the moderate right its refreshing to hear this discussion I hope we can come to peace. This year was unjaring. Although i don’t believe in the concept so called Palestinians I believe there are people in Gaza who deserve to have self determination, pride and peace. How do we do it?

How to persuade young Palestinians to accept the two state solution? Most young Palestinians want to move to Israel.

Blame Hamas for lack of plumbing in Gaza. They spent the money on tunnels and weapons.

No sewage? What do they do with the billions of dollars on international help Gaza gets? I take it that he responds yes to the question of whether hatred is taught in schools, even though his answer is convoluted as if he was trying to loose us. He also says that Hamas had to ‘invest’ (?) in luxury items to sustain the economy??? Call a spade a spade, mate: Hamas has squandered billions of dollars that the international community has given to the Palestinian people in Gaza to help them build up their lives and their economy and to have a bright future, Hamas has squandered it .Hamas is an Islamofascist organisation that oppresses its own people and uses them as sacrificial offerings in the altar of their fanaticism.

Blockade?? Only when they started launching terror attacks and missles. Egypt has a border but never supplied water, electricity, food...why not?

It’s not Egypt’s responsibility; it’s Israel’s responsibility to support and protect their citizens.

@@Israelreality1 Israel has plenty of water, electricity and food. Why are they preventing Gaza from having basic humanitarian supplies? Why did they destroy all the water production facilities?

He is from Palestine. Where was that? Who was the president? Was it near Atlantis? Gaza voted in Hamas. The civilians are responsible and were educated as jew killers.

You claim that they are all educated to kill Jews and yet here you are saying all the civilians in Gaza are responsible? No need to differentiate from the ones who are currently too young to read or write let alone anyone under the age of like 33 which would make them too young to even vote in the last election, really? They are all responsible you say? Do you honestly not see the incredible irony in you then claiming THEY are the ones who educate their children to hate an entire group of people? Look in the mirror shlomo. Talk about a ridiculous and pathetic lack of self awareness.

Wow. All the civilians are responsible eh? And then you expect us to believe THEY are the ones educating their children to be Jew killers? Sounds like you need to go take a long hard look in the mirror.

Why were there no protests against Hamas? Let me think...they celebrated in the streets for every terrorist attack, allowed their homes to be used for weapons and themselves as human shields. The Palestinians also danced for 911, beheadings, oct 7, all the dramatic instances of Jihad.

How about tried and tested and not so original concept of unconditional surrender ? Nobody remembers WWII anymore ? You really believe that an inhumane ideology cannot be eradicated ? How about a pretty successful denazification ? I admire courage, knowledge and idealism of Mr. Alkhatib, but I would really love a little admixture of realism.
