Void Gauntlet Rapier New World PvP Build Guide for Patch 1.2+. This guide will cover Ability setups, Mastery Setups ,Attribute Distribution ,Weapon perks and Armor Perks for one of my favorite 1vX builds.
Void Gauntlet is a great intelligence melee weapon that synergizes with a lot of weapons. The utility brought from oblivion and petrifying scream is insane. While the damage from Voidblade is still really good. Rapier covers a lot of the weakness like predictability and mobility that the void gauntlet has. Using Fleche for mobility, Riposte for CC and debuffing are the main ways to do that. Evade is just a nice damage ability with a lot baked into it.

Happy Holidays! Something I did forget to touch on is that I do think this build is viable with Light, Medium and Heavy Dodge Rolls. Medium is probably best for wars/opr if you can get away with it. Heavy is the safer still good pick on point. I didn't get a chance to try it with light armor but based off of my most experience with light armor in OPR. I think it would do great. Let me know if there is anyway I could make these videos better in the future!

I run Souldrain. Keen is actually not too important on the Blade build actually; I would rather have Vicious and Enchanted. And having Lifestealing AND Refreshing Move is chef's kiss. Great guide though. My skill trees are identical. Only thing I would say is that Resilient is very important still. Elemental Aversion is currently stronger than Physical, but with Blunderbuss incoming, that might change.

Oh and for weapon perk. If I use voracious blade I'd use the moonstone. While it's not the best usually I think it work especially well with this perk since when you get under 50% you heal the damage and you do more damage increasing your survivability

I've seen a lot of people talk about 50 dex for Crit chance on VG and with the Rapier I feel like it's the best way to make it worth. Since you get extra Crit chance and the dex ain't wasted

Yea I get that but like I said I value the ability to swap rapier out for weapons that don't scale with dex

Is this build still viable with the new update? i have just come back to new world and building a new character, instinctly went for void and rapier build just cos it sounded a like it would be fun. and while i have been leveling up well doing pve stuff with a slightly differenty build, i can tell my dps is not as good as it could be and looking into void rapier builds, this is the most recent one i can find but also seems to be one of the best

Yes it does. Only change is that I did run Orb of Decay over the scream in Mutations. If I recall correctly they did nerf Orbs damage so you could keep the build the same and keep using scream for the big damage reduction and stagger.

@@9901ghsa Honestly when running dynasty with this build more or less I had a refreshing move rapier so it went pretttty big. But the hype part about VG is that you can swap out the secondary with whatever.

Oh I still main strength builds but I want to cover all types of builds. Im just wanting to avoid being one dimensional. But my next video is going to be covering Great Axe Warhammer/Hatcher for 1.2 and trying to practice doing live commentary gameplay videos. I do appreciate the support regardless of the build though.

Since vg came out I basically ran this build, but a weird style. Full hvy armor and only 50 con, then half int half focus. Range is the literal bane of my existence, but I have not found a single dps that can overpower the heals I do, overall I do around 80% life steal, then 180% if I get someone in a musket trap.I heal for around 2k per second and deal around 3k per second (not including musket trap) and to compare that to other heals from life staff, people struggle to get 1k heals overall, and if people run an aoe heal set up 800 is basically max TL:DR I use a 180% life steal build and do around 3k dps…

hey man i'm curious for your rings you don't choose scared for a perk on the ring it's such an amazing perk for your healing do you think leeching is better than that or just like leeching better?

Afaik the self healing from VG isn’t buffed by sacred. Admittedly I didn’t test that myself

@@Thatiriekid So I went to windswards warcamp with 5 int and 20 focus with and backstabbed the dummy with a heavy attack I don't have the last passive For the first hit I had no ring on Starting with 5626 health I hit it for 629 and went to 5720 gaining 94 health which is the 15% of the crits damage. 2nd Hit I went for it with a throw away scared ring with 7.6% out going heals going from 5507 health to 5601 dealing 629 healing myself for 94 With my Leeching ring at 4.6% I go from 5962 to 6085 dealing 629 again but healing this time for 123. 94 from the 15% healing on crits and 29 from the leeching.

I can test more later today but right now I can say with confidence the 15% heal on crit doesnt get buffed by sacred

TBH I haven't tested it I just took the same rule of thumb that all non skill perks don't stack.

Medium gets 3 dodges normally. Light and heavy usually only has 2 so heart gives it a 3rd

@@delamain2077 Well Nimble is only on earrings. And the extra stamina means it doesnt take as long to get back above 40. It'll take less time to get to a point where you can dodge again without emptying your stamina bar. Might be a personal preference of mine since I'm usually trying to balance not hitting the grey stamina bar I feel like I die more whenever I miss use that last little bit of stamina
