I’ve got a ‘64 in Bahama Blue. The paint is in pretty good shape and converted it to electric drive. It’s a head turner to look at and also a head turner when I put my foot into it and leave traffic in the dust.

Sorry Mike I am English but have lived in Mexico for 20 years.. the official name for a buy in Mexico is a VW sedan but affectionately all over Mexico they are known as a Vocho or Vochito.. I have never heard any one call them a belly button in all the time I’ve been living here, but it is true that there are a lot of vochos in Mexico and indeed Latin America

They would’ve been better served to rebuild the original motor if it was intact. I would’ve also kept it as original as possible, but it upgrade sit disc brakes for the front is inexpensive and well worth it from a performance and safety perspective. The desks are some of the only things I have put that weren’t factory on my own Bug.

Hardly any Beetles are on their original engines and were probably unable to rebuild the original engine due to time and money.

What year is this car? I'd expect the UK version to lack the nice upper braces for the bumper guards that were required in the USA, or the ugly exposed sealed-beam headlights that eventually became mandatory here. But this one has the thermometer-style fuel gauge, which I've heard was an option, or maybe an aftermarket accessory in the late 1950s, as well as the Wolfsburg crest on the hood (eh .. would you call that a bonnet or a boot?), making me guess it's not later than a 1962. I suppose these features could have been mixed and matched over the years, but it's a cool car either way. Nice job restoring it.

maybe in 1950 it would cost these prices. I have a 65 bus and a 61 double and I spend that in a day ordering a few parts. like 7k for paint $2500 TRANSMISSION 8K FOR CB PERFORMANCE MOTOR $3500 DISK BRAKES AND EXTRAS AROUND 4K.

superficial rust can be isolated by the paint because there is still metal underneath. Only if it's rotten it won't stick.

nice job I like to use original parts. 2000 would be 3000 usd That is a lot here just to spray it maybe that included paint. and no prep I am sure. it is expensive there to have anything done because of all the government.

You simply wont find one like this for less than 12-13k let alone "a few grand" even a paint job on one of these costs 8k or more now unless your doing the work yourself.

the color in the painter this w.w we call here in denmark for kichen blue even the coffe jug an defriend kind of tool you use in the kichen on this long time a go had this color so wiet the exception of the hand sink ( l o l ps it good you give then the orgial color as its had be born wiet from the factory an not all that ohhm strenge kind of color
