kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2SrZZl8fdafZsU&t= This is my video on the rotations (for rotation 1, I have videos for all 6). It's a bit more for advanced fans of the game, but still. :) Best regards.

Maybe show how the circle doesn’t always work but you could still be “in rotation”. Such as in rotation 3 when the sets back row position 5 is most notorious for this. You pull the OH passer (OH2) in position 3 to the left back but the setter isn’t restricted by them at all. Therefore, not only can the setter be in front of this passer they can also “cheat” toward the middle past this passer being that the setter in this rotation is only restricted by the middle in front of him/her in position 4 and the OH passer (OH1) to the right of him/her in position 6. I hate climbing the levels and end up playing with teams who are still confused by these rotations.
@joelchandlervball5 жыл бұрын
Yep, that's a frustrating one! Because the setter only needs to be behind the middle in position 4 and to the left of the pass hitter in 6. In which case the circle turns into a contorted witchetty grub ;)

im confused about when to do the rotations. rotation 4 and 5 are the only rotations we are doing because im only grade 7 im a middle and. i dont quite understand when to do what rotation
@amanlai37984 жыл бұрын
Each position has its own home position, and the point of rotations is to get back to your home position and do what your position does.

Middle school usually doesn’t do 5-1 unless you are in club volleyball. Talk to your coach and ask them if you are doing basic rotations. Which is simply just moving places clock wise.

Love it, thanks Joel! Only comment is that it would be helpful to explain where the setter aims to always end up for the 5-1 formation (and maybe why).

wait so you rotate only if you get a point when it was the opponet's serve?
@lexin50973 жыл бұрын
You rotate when you get the point and it’s your turn to serve after the other team already served .. if that makes sense ?
@matthiasneuwersch3984 жыл бұрын
Rotation 3 receive: Setter (5) can start right of Front Row OH (3). He has to be behind M(4) and left of OH(6).

So there are two middles but only one at a time because one of them is always replaced by libero who is always on the court? And two players are passers or hitters depending which row they are in at the current rotation? Did I get that right?

Question. I want to be a hitter, I’m not that great at anything else lol. So when we rotate, do I have to become a setter? Or become a libero ? Or am I hitter on 3rd position. ?
@kozumekenma52343 жыл бұрын
you stay your role, you also cant just become a libero or setter, they are special positions that are chosen to you. a libero is a special role that you even need a different outfit then everyone else, and the setter sets to the spikers. a spiker/ offense role wouldnt become a defensive or pre-offensive role. the libero is a defensive role and the setter sets the the spiker so i call it a pre-offensive role.

really late but i hope someone can still answer me lol- for rotation 1 when setter is in position 1 (around min 2:30 in the vid)- why do 5 (the libero) & 6 always switch? shouldn’t the libero be in the middle to get the balls more & wouldn’t it be more convenient for them to stay in that position?

Rotation is useless: Each player is specialized, it makes the game more difficult and therefore less spectacular, it restricts tactics and learning, it confuses the spectator who does not know the rules, it is not respected in higher level (In P1, the setter always goes first)!! When will this stupid rule be removed??
