I remember driving this brand new car at the car lot I worked for in mid 70's. Like a cushion of air when caddys were luxury.

man that has some real presence...what a beauty. the thing about these is that they were the last convertibles actually built on the assembly line, not shipped off to ASC for conversion like the re-introduced ragtops of the 80's. I believe now the Mustangs and Camaros are assembly line built, can't say for sure. I think this Eldo, beautiful as it is, needs a little engine attention...sounds like a lifter or maybe a rocker has a problem...probably sat undriven for too many years

@@VoloMuseumAutoSales I have one opinion about having a gem and don´t drive it!!!! If You ask me,I like a beautiful car but if I can´t/or don´t want to drive it what´s then the meaning with having a beauty??Beats me !If there´s anyone that knows please enlighten me.Thanks and I wish You all a wnderful 2022!
@stefangustafsson69393 жыл бұрын
ps Btw,he forgot to say that the Bicentennials "only" have 190 hp while the EFIs have 216.He was right about the 500 though.Another thing is that there´s many things that´s been replaced or need to be on a "new car".There were more convertibles made in ´76 than Cadillac.Many started making convertibles in ´84 and since they all have promised never to do so, they were sued by lots of people that have bought their ´76s to place them in storages because that they thought that they were going to raise in value.Guess who won!!ds

Yes I agree.There will be a lots of probs when You´re gonna drive this car that´s be just standing in a garage for 45 years!! I think that it´s VERY sorry when rich people buy car like that and never use them!!!!
@Springbok3143 жыл бұрын
I remember as a 16 year old when this car was new. Yes, GM made this model the last U.S. built rag top. The advent of sunroofs and T-tops put a huge dent in the demand for drop tops. I recall that Chrysler brought the convertible back with a K-car variant in the early 80s. Anyway, this car is indeed a beauty. But $60k for it is insane.

Beautiful Bi-Cenennial ... i personally owned a 74 $ 76 Eldo convertibles... definitely a parade car ... if you can find a parade these days. It definitely has a tap sound when they backed out of the garage could be lifters or even an exhaust manifold leak and what's up with no visors? There's something very odd about that very hard to find for that car, since both visors have vanity mirrors that light up. If I were considering buying I'd make this dealer fix the tap noise and find new visors and have them dyed to match. The things I want to paint out to a perspective buyer is the convertible top... watch it being opened and closed ... if it goes down evenly on both sides great if not again it needs.to be adjusted by someone familiar with the Eldo scissor top, not too many convertible top places places have anyone in thei shop that knows what's up with a scissor top. Remember if the top doesn't open correctly you're fancy expensive rear top glass with heating elements running through the glass will shatter in a heart beat. Not funny and expensive and not easily found.

Beautiful land yacht. Seems to be some sort of rattle or pinging in the engine when it was pulled out of the garage.

They made 200 of these converts and they could have made 2,000 and sold every one of them. There was big demand for these in '76.
