Me too, not quite sure if I should go for the V90 or the V90 cross country... Does it drive the same? How capable is it off-road? Is the extra cost justified?

@@gmfdilke No direct answer, but research helped me. It is apparently quite a good buy, featuring better standard equipment, a comfier yet less sporty suspension and some honestly impressive offroad capability compared to rivals on the market. In retrospect I'd go for the CC if my needs justify it in the least of ways :D

I think the best alternative to an SUV is the regular V90. This car in cross country trim reminds me of the original XC90.

Would rather get me a brand new 2016 XC70 (third gen.) D5 AWD with manual transmission. Too fancy the styling of the new model, imo. ...and there is no manual transmission any longer. Disappointing.

John Grytbakk Well volvo's a premium brand, can't do that with a straight face while selling non-premium products. These days, manual transmissions and bland(ish) styling aren't part of that anymore.

@@jspope2008 but those are completely diferent vehicles. this volvo has a clearance of almost as high as a toyota landcruiser, while any curb will break mb e and bmw-s 5 bumper…. even mb e all terrain has 5cm lower clearance.

kalx007 Ah no. I have a Landcruiser. The Volvo is no higher than the Mercedes All Terain, which you can increase its ride hight further. No saying the Volvo is not a nice car but it’s a pity it doesn’t ride that well, or as well as others.
