It blows my mind Every-time when people assume that we don’t believe in God. They don’t understand Vodun and the importance of it. It sounds to me that they are similar to Saints in the Catholic religion. We have a Saint for everything like for example Saint Jude is for desperate cases Saint Anthony is for lost objects and so on. Colombia had a massive African slave trade and even if your friend is light skinned she can still have African ancestors. Growing up in Traditional Catholic in Louisiana/Mississippi family. I just saw it as worshipping the ancestors. Which like us praying to the Saints. Voodoo practitioners actually worship a Bondye aka The supreme concept of God.. its Rare in New Orleans if you're practice it. Growing up in New Orleans. But, no its not black magic. But how can these different spiritualities Ex: voodoo, santa to maria, obeah etc can serve "GOD" when the Bible states : The second commandment is "You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them". Than the Bible states : Deuteronomy 18:10-11 - Let no one be found among you who consigns a son or daughter to the fire, or who is an augur, a soothsayer, a diviner, a sorcerer, one who casts spells, or one who consults ghosts or familiar spirits, or one who inquires of the dead. How can you be Spiritualist and Worship "GOD"?

There are no carved images in Haytian vodou. These are imported practices, some from hollywood imaginations, that Haytians use against whoever is the wrongdoer. If your ancestors used them then that is what is passed on to you. In the past, the french vampires and the english werewolves were taken, perfected and used by Haytians during the Revolution to fight against those enemies that sent them. Haytian vodou deals with energies/laws of the different tribes. The north of Hayti focuses mostly on bloodline, so wherever you are, whether you believe or not, without having to do anything, you are chosen. The south focuses mostly on initiation.

As I have stated on this channel numerous times, even though many people in spiritual realms use words like serve or worship that’s not the right term. (Even I have made that mistake) it just makes the conversation faster but realistically in the spiritual world in the grand scheme NONE of the lwa or deities replace God in anyway shape or form. Just like how Catholics revere the saints, the lwa are here to guide use through everyday life to make sure we get to where we need to go in this life and beyond they are second to God and beyond never do they replace God. Furthermore, remember there are numerous versions of the Bible to which have been tampered with by numerous parties and have removed books like Mary Mag’s book for instance so yea 👐🏽 the Bible like most books are not end all be all.

Because the Bible is a book of Abrahamic mythology and is not based on The Supreme Divinity (or "God")...it's based obny on the cult of Yahweh (a specific entity that was originally just a minor deity from the Canaanite pantheon) and has nothing to do with African Spirituality. All foreign non-African religions have their own mythologies and their own dogmas; biblical religions are just one of them on a long list....but NONE of them have any monopoly on exclusive access to The Supreme Creator and the biblical god (Yahweh) was not even the original deity of the Bible. But to sum it up, abrahamic/biblical theology is just a foreign dogma that is not equipped to understand that African Traditional Spiritual systems have known of and honored The Supreme Divine Creator way before some foreigner humans created their biblical-based religions to try and convert people and erase other cultural spiritual systems. The Yahweh cult (which is what the Bible promotes) is a newly created religion when compared to indigenous African-based Spiritualities and has no authority over their practices.
