My mum once said this to my dad "if you believe that those who heal the sick in a church you should believe that the same for those who do it outside the church". My mum said this in response when my cousins neighbour gave me a elixr to rid me of a chest infection/cold due to the change in weather I get whenever I go to St Maarten from cold ssa England. The lady is Haitian so my dad thought she gave me voodoo medicine(the lady came from Haiti) to in my dad's words un-alive me. My mum put my dad in his place & gave me the homemade medicine which got rid of my cold & chest infection in 2 days. I learned a lesson as a kid to not judge a person by the country & negative reputations that the country may have.

It was my mum who said it she wasn't down with people being disrespectful to another persons culture. My mum never met someone from Haiti & the only thing she saw about Haitians came from negative stereotypes on TV yet she didn't judge the lady & profusely thanked her for helping me feel better. @_itslaurasworld

I live right around the corner from Voodoo Village. People are scared of it but I’m not at all. I understood without being aware of what the symbols actually meant. It’s actually oddly peaceful to me. Like there’s something spiritual going on there but nothing sinister. I found it beautiful and it should be treated as such especially Memphians

I live in Memphis and my husband and I took a ride last year and found this temple by accident. We were excited bc to us the grounds looked like a big altar. We were very respectful as to not disturb or pry on the grounds. For us it was very peaceful and serene. But we are not in fear of any of our ancient practices either. I hope you gt to make a trip down! Memphis is beautiful, most people here just dont see its authentic beauty. We are in the holy lands here in Memphis, TN. Gratitude fo the video. Peace 💜

Please do a story on the demon house in Gary Indiana. It's said that there was an open portal in the basement. The kids were possessed climbing the walls, and all! A few people witnessed it, including the cops and a social worker who had retired due to the incident. One of the Ghost Hunting shows bought the house and demolished it after doing a show because they didn't want anyone else to experience it. Gary Indiana is haunted af. I grew up in a haunted house, but nothing like the demon house.

@@jecoliasjems2529yes I know. Moorish empire = morocco 🇲🇦. I always was fascinated to hear black america names and they sounded moroccan while growing up. Not just arabic namea, but specific names that we only use in morocco. I can also look at their faces and features and they just look “moroccan”. We moroccans know one another just from the face- black, brown, white or olive skinned moroccans; it didnt matter. They still have this specific look. And so, Ive always been able to look at a black American and can instantly tell if they were natives or not. But Im glad to learn more about this erased history now that Im older and continue to dig through the hidden knowledge 😊

Some say ita voodoo some say its witchcraft when its a gift from God..Some people dont understand the power of God and prayer..walking with Jesus is hard in the beginning but it gets better even when it gets harder because along the way he shows himself to us through showing us the unknown, sending people to cross our path and turning around the things that are designed to destroy us to work out for our good.. This video is interesting💚

Memphian here. I found Voodoo Village accidentally. My brother rode with me to a party in Westwood. Somehow, we ended up in Voodoo Village on the way home. We got stopped by a bald police officer with cold, dead ice blue eyes. He was in one of those big body sheriff style cars. It was 2009. The end of the street had no lights and looked like we were heading towards dirt and darkness. The cop told us to turn around. We did, and the police car was gone. It was a straight road, but opened up at the end, so there was nowhere to make turns except where we were. Even if he was speeding, we would have seen his rear lights. The car vanished. We went back the way we came but ended up heading in the opposite direction. It was just a strange occurrence. Haven't been back since. The officer was creepy, but I don't recall any uneasiness from the neighborhood itself. Just that anxious feeling of being lost, and why was that cop there?

I was a kid in the 90s and I vividly remember news reporters doing a segment on it and trying to get past the gates, they filmed the part where they were yelled at to get off the property. 💀 As I got older I heard stories about the area and years later my ex drove me to the street of it, but didn’t go all the way down, I couldn’t see all that was shown in this video. Memphian here! I moved to hornlake ms with my parents in 97. Its right on the outskirt or Stateline of Memphis, i ended up moving to Memphis in my early 20s. Kids at my high school and some rap music spoke of voodoo village which spooked me a bit because of course, they looked at it as demonic. Although i have a different view of what "demonic" is from most other people now, i was just like everybody else back then. I left Christianity almost 10 yrs ago and voodoo village is always on my mind! When i watched a documentary on it and the truth came out i keep telling myself i need to see how i can visit but i keep forgetting. Memphis is a VERY spiritual place.. most of the people here don't know it tho due to the crime. I'm drawn to this place and feel i can't leave. Anywho... you definitely should come visit and go to Ebbos like the other ladies in the comments mentioned 🤗🤗🤗

Thank you for sharing this. I’m a NOLA Girl 💜💚💛. Love Marie LaVeau, grew up loving her so much. When you come to NOLA, MLV’s tomb, St. Louis #1. I 💯💯💯 agree with him white trash! Sad that people did that and still do that to these wonderful humans who are called to help others. Different isn’t bad. I’d love to visit St. Paul’s Spiritual Holy Temple. Sounds like a loving, healing sanctuary. And we all need that. I am GenX &&& breaks my heart that people treat others that way, back then and today. Aren’t we all the human race. We’re all related. We all came from the same place and then spread throughout the world. People really need to educate themselves. Love your videos.

I'm an old white Memphis kid. I'll be 68 this August and have been in Texas since 1980. I remember stories of Voodoo Village many times but never went there. Thank the Lord I was not raised by prejudice parents and was taught to be respectful. It's sad so many went there and did not respect them and bothered them in the terrible red neck ways they did. It's so shameful how people can be treated because they believe or live in a way outside societies norm. You did a great video explaining what it actually is. Thanks ✌

I was able to get on the grounds once with my best friend at the time. She lived in Whitehaven so we frequently pass it. It was like a still energy and the items were eclectic. We went during the day so my anxiety wasn’t bad at all.

Westwood Memphis is where voodoo village is, I'm very familiar with that location. I once lived out there many years ago and the stories I heard about that family is deep than you can imagine... Nice I didn't know he was a Shriner... More to the puzzle
