Vornado Zippi Personal Fan

Here is an overview of the Vornado Zippi personal fan. This fan completes my little collection of Vornado’s current personal fans. I definitely think the Zippi holds a unique spot in today’s fan market due to its open-blade design. It’s a good fan if you don’t mind sacrificing a bit of airflow for the quietness and the neat design. Thanks for watching!

I didn’t think these where still a thing way back in 2008 I had one for a very short time then sold it and bought a little Duracraft box fan from CVS

Always a fan of the flexible open blades of the Zippi. Pretty surprised that they still put AC motors on the Zippi even though they already have DC fans in their lineup.

It’s definitely a neat concept! I personally find the blade design a bit inefficient but the safety aspect of it is a win. A DC Zippi actually sounds pretty cool! If it’s USB powered that’d be a good fan for travelling. I’m guessing they went with an AC motor for the sake of keeping the cost down.

Yeah they all share the open blade design. I think that was a blooming idea in the 50s, since I believe Caframo and Samson also introduced their open blade fans around that time.

I’ve seen them for sale at the Home Depot and Bed Bath & Beyond. Amazon also has a good selection of Vornado products. I’ve bought most of my Vornado fans from Amazon.

How do u take the blade off?

The blades/hub pull straight off the motor shaft. It can be tricky because of its rounded shape, but with a decent tug, it should slide off.
