Voron 2.4 Step By Step Part 3 The AB Drive Modules +
This is the third of several videos where I will build a Voron 2.4 350 and show step by step. This step is the A and B modules plus front idlers.
The build parts are from the sourcing guide recommended vendors.
I had started the attachment of the assemblies to the frame, but the video was much too long. I'll have this as a fourth video.
I just started using DaVinci Resolve so I'm a noob at it. Let me know what I'm doing right and wrong please. I want to get better at this.

Just a heads up, in video 7 I moved the motor wires so that they point toward each other. In this video they go out toward the back. Moving them give better clearance when enclosing the printer.

Excuse my excitement. I am pondering a Voron 2.4 build myself, and your close up build videos are going to help a lot more than those live build streams. It's hard to tell what's what in those videos.

I'll be finishing with it tonight. I have one more assembly to document. It sometimes takes KZbin 12 hours or so to render a 30 minute 4K video, so sometime tomorrow it will post. Sorry, as pitiful as it is, it takes me 45+ hours to make one of these. I hope I get faster at it. lol

Thank you. I'm not a member of the Voron team so I can't make that happen on Discord. I'm trying to do it like a video manual to make things clearer to people. I've spent a lot of years trying to make things clearer to people as a UI software engineer. Now if my video skills would just improve so I can make that idea happen. lol

having problems threading m5 into the assembly, maybe the hole is not tight enough. What do you think if i fix it adding an heat insert?

You could probably do that. The hole probably isn't large enough for the insert though. You might have to ream the hole out to fit. I would measure a M3 hole that takes an insert and the M3 insert and see how much clearance there is. Those bearing screws are easy to strip. I have one that is a little loose now also.

I really recommend you to use the Klicky Probe mod at start it is a Bit more Work but you get so much better leveling

I agree. I will probably go ahead and start with the stock on just as a reference for people building stock printers. I also want to print all the parts I need just on this printer again as a reference and video material.

I spent 2 hours trying to get those bearing stacks to go into the tensioner. You made it look easy That is a very bad design. They need to start that tensioner design over.

The power of editing makes everything look easy. lol Actually I think the $1 dental tool I use helps a lot.

I actually found it easier to do something similar to the manual only I used a long screwdriver to skewer the washers and bearings, slower removed it, slotted the tensioner in and then pushed the bolt through.

Is this a 2.4v2 or a 2.4 older style?

A 2.4. I use some illustrations from the r2 manual in the videos though. It takes me a while to make these videos so I start the series before R2 came out.

Much easier way to install the washers / bearings is to use a THIN Allen key then chase it with the screw.

@@scottcorn you can also build it from the thin side and just stack it. Then use the thin Alex key to put the colored C side on. Run another Allen key in reverse to get the other side of the C.

Your loctite is either fake or expired, seems too runny and colour is not right xd

It may be counterfeit. I've had a lot of trouble with fakes from the big A online site in the last couple of years.
