At just under 22oz soaking wet, this Razor LHT is a much different optic from its Gen II Razor brothers. However, does that make it less of a scope? Lets find out!

If they could slap an 8x riser on a 2.5x base and give us a lightweight 2.5-20x50 I think that would be the ultimate do it all scope. 2.5x is just barely low enough to be useful and focusable at 10 yards and 20x gives you target-ID levels of magnification at a mile, while Razor-tier optics and a 50mm objective would likely be able to get enough light to the eye to make that top end usable in most daylight situations. I know that 10x and 12x risers are an engineering nightmare, but it seems like 8x is pretty well worked out at this point. Really hope the next gen of Light Hunter scopes gives us a really primo MPVO option. Thanks for the review, C_Does!

I believe that the 3-15X model finds its home in this category a bit more - for people who want >20X magnification, they often also want many of those features that this optic sacrifices for weight However, the 3-15X weighs a mere 19.1 ounces, which is less than many LPVO’s. I really like the price on this optic as well, but I think that the added feature set of the Razor HD 3-18X is more my speed for long range precision, whereas this guy would be stellar on a hunting or SPR-type weapon
@CDOES

I completely agree. I only wish the 3-15 was ffp and had this reticle as opposed to the options they offer. I also really f#cking wish that Vortex would make this in a 2-10 ffp. But they never will

Personally I really like the G4i reticule in the 3-15x50... the center dot without holdovers really emphasizes first shot accuracy for hunting applications. Tactical style reticules are awesome for long range shooting, especially when you can see your impact and then use that location in your reticule as the holdover point for your next shot but I don't think that they are optimal for hunting where you will only have one chance/shot. The simplicity of the G4i reticule is in that once you dial your elevation, you can just stay on your rifle looking through your scope while you focus on your target and making a SINGLE perfect shot. It's not the correct choice of scope for every shooter/situation, but for general purpose hunting with the occasional shot out to about 500 or 600 yards it seems like an absolutely fantastic setup.

I have the Nightforce NX8 2.5x20 pulled from my big gun and debating putting it on my light weight 6.5prc. At 28oz I want something lighter. I admit 4x22 is a better range. But 20 is more than I need and 2.5 I can see my muzzle. I had to have both my Razor 10x42 repaired by Vortex and my VX3 repaired by Leupold. The binos were made in Japan and they returned Chinese ones and the VX3 cost me a buck. I don't want to return my shi#t. I want it to work. Both were straight up internal failures. Still looking but I think I am going to stick with Nighforce. Good luck.

I know this video is several months old, but I'm having a hard time choosing between the vortex 4.5-22x50 f1, NF 2.5-20x50 f1, and the NF 4-32x50 f1 as my primary hunting/ predator optic. You have very good videos on these optics, but I'm still at a loss on which one might be better overall. The price difference between the optics is not an issue, I simply feel your opinion could help me out a great deal. Thanks again for all the great content you produce.

If your going for a hunting/ predator optic its Gotta be the lht. Some say they don't hold up well to hard abuse. But they are so light and perform well all around. The Nf options are going to be heavier, no have locking turrets. But if you planned on driving it hard and taking it to some to tidal courses. Then the 2.5-20 would work. Itll be heavier, and the reticle won't work really until 4-5x, but thats in line with the lht. They are so so nice tho.

But this makes me feel really good about it. I will say it is not as bright as my fathers 15 yr old ziess 4.5-14x44 but clarity is very similar. And it is close in brighness untell ubove 15-18 power then brightness does suffer as youd expect. Darklord of optics was where i got my info at the time

I somehow missed this when it came out. I have the 3-15 model on my 6.5 grendel AR and it does great. I have one major complaint that drives me crazy. The zero stop limits the total elevation travel to 11.5 mils. In my case past about 950 yds I have to dial all the way and then start holding over. It's frustrating when I know the turret has more to give without the zero stop.
@JohnAlbinus

Get a 20 MOA base, it'll shift your crosshairs towards the top of the range so you have more elevation clicks down!
@JackManiacky

@JohnAlbinus that's not what's happening here. The zerostop limits the travel. Without the zerestop, I can use all the elevation in the erector.

@mc-nm6ml 11 ай бұрын
T6 is solid, going to be heavier than this though by almost a pound. So depends on if you are hunting or target shooting. 34 mm tube on Steiner so better elevation travel. Better glass/better tracking on the Steiner for sure. But they have weird magnification ranges, it goes 2.5-15, 3-18, and then jumps to 5-30. Wish they would’ve done like a 4-24 or something.
