Thanks for the really good explanation. I just ordered this scope up yesterday and I'm really excited to get it set up.

Great video. Thanks for the explanation - very helpful. I have the Mrad version of this scope arriving tomorrow and a 20 MOA base coming as well. Can’t wait to try it out!

Excellent explanation. The zero stop ring limits you to less than two full revolutions of the turret, regardless of your scope zero distance. For MRAD that is about 18.8 total MRAD of elevation. My scope gives me 16.2 MRAD of elevation. With my 20 MOA rail, I get another 6 MRAD, for total of 22.2. That gets a mile target onto the reticle (zero at 100 yds) . The ring, with its 18.8 limit, takes the mile target out of view.

THANK YOU !! Mine came with no instructions ! I was like " What the F is this ". I have 3 Vortex Scopes. ALL 3 have a different zero stop system !

Is there a way to set it up without the .5MRAD under travel? And have a true 'zero stop'? I have no need for that under travel.

Great video, one question, if the ring takes up almost 2 revs, is it possible to have a place mill it down ?
@A603634 жыл бұрын
No - the limit is due to the length of the key-way on each side of the Rev Stop ring. If you machine the end of the key-way out, there won't be any metal to stop the turret, and thus no zero stop. With the ring installed, I'm still getting ~350 yards on 22LR and 1300 yards on 6.5 creedmoor... If that isn't enough, grab a different base/rings to run it at the end of it's travel and have a great scope with a ridiculous amount of elevation adjustment!

Any scope would be good for my Diana 56TH air gun

Arken and Athlon will CRUSH Vortex in very short fashion if they already have not. I used to LOVE Vortex and still own two of their scopes. (2012 PST FFP 6-24, and 1-6 Strike Eagle) but their quality control has went to the wayside I am afraid. Don't get me wrong, they have a great warranty, but not if I have to use it all the time.... Great video explanation!

Stop watching youtube shills that are ambassadors for Arken. If Arken is good at one thing, it's paying for youtube reviews.

Did you figure out how much rise in optical center you need to zero low in the adjustment to eliminate the zero stop? I’m looking at doing the same thing and have seen between 30-50 moa
@A603633 жыл бұрын
That will vary from gun to gun, so there isn't a set number. It'll have to be determined through trial and error. I know on my current setup (B14R and bedded EGW 40moa rail), I'm 3.7 mils from the top of the travel.

This scope has a big (56mm) optical bell. What rings are you using for this scope?
@A603633 жыл бұрын
I've got them on 3 guns, all with .92" & 1.00" rings, all with relatively heavy 22LR barrels. One might need to go a bit higher for a heavy PRS center-fire setup.

If you don't use the zero stop piece is there a marking on the post so you know what rotation you are on ? Does the turret dial move up and down or does it just turn without moving up and down ?
@A603636 ай бұрын
It does not move up or down with rotations. Without it, you either need to count rotations from the end of travel, or maximize the cant in your rail to be less than 1 rotation from the top, which is what I do on my 22LR’s that see ELR type shots. I’m currently using a 40moa rail on that one.

Okay so what I am getting from this video, there is no real benefit from a 20 moa base or similar if you are running the zero stop? Also I am assuming if you know you plan on shooting past your max available adjustment you can just pull out the zero stop and gain back the rest of your available adjustment, without doing anything else?
@ricardoantonio50854 жыл бұрын
Yes, and I believe yes.
@A603634 жыл бұрын
Somewhat. The canted base still ensures you get the ~18.9 mils of down travel. If I wasn't running one and everything was perfectly straight, I'd only have 17, even w/o the zero stop. Yes, you can just remove it for those rare ELR (extended long range) shots.

Hi expert why my scope I view the images not stable move around??? Thks expert
@A603633 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you are asking, but there are 2 likely things happening: 1. Too much magnification will make the target image appear more unstable. Use as little magnification as you need to see the target and your hits. 2. Parallax/focus set incorrectly. Research eye piece focus and parallax (separate things) - they are a bit more complex than I can cover in a KZbin comment.

So I don’t have to use the zero stop run? Sorry for the stupid question.
@A60363 Жыл бұрын
You don’t have to use the RevStop. Without it, you’ll gain full elevation travel up and down, but won’t have a zero stop, so you’ll want to remember or write down how many turns up from the bottom your zero is.

I think it's great for the money. I have a hard time seeing any difference between this one and the PST G2. It's definitely better than the Diamondback.

Nice feature but disappointing execution. I'd rather have washers to be honest.

Why can't Vortex just make a scope with a hard stop? All the shims and RevStop ideas are just not that great.
@Luis.M.Castillo4 жыл бұрын
Bottom line. Don't use it, wait for the gen 2.
@A603634 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say that. I doubt they'll have a zero stop this crisp, on a scope this inexpensive, that doesn't limit travel. 18 mils will get me to 350 yards on my 22LR or 1300 yards on my 6.5 creedmoor... That should satisfy 99.9% of customers needs.
@Ripper13F1V4 жыл бұрын
@@A60363 I have had this in hand for a couple of days, it's really an excellent optic.18 mils gets me to 1500ish yards, way beyond 99% of the shooting I'll do. I love this type of zero stop, it's easy to use, and I don't have slippage as with the washer/shim method. It's amazing that this is an option at this price point, and one that you have thatoption to use it, or run a base off the optical center depending on what you are doing with it.
