I'm not American, but American politics influence the politics of the entire globe. And for all that I might disagree with Donald Trump's poiitics, this is what has worried me as well - that such a large part of the US electorate seems ready to ignore the principle of the Rule of Law for the sake of being Proven Right about something. Because the Rule of Law isn't about opinion. It's about the fundaments of democracy itself. When it is ignored, then autocracy is the next thing coming - and the current US administration has proven all too well that it is happy to ignore it when it is to their own benefit. And that is chilling, even to outsiders.
@jay_mw
@jay_mw 3 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry you, but I think you may be misinformed. Here's a trick, research content that specifically highlights things the administration did wrong and then look for explanation and defenses for that from the other side. Kind of like a court where you have a prosecutor and defense. If all you hear is the prosecution than the case seems straight forward. However, when you can hear the defense things may not be what they initially appear. I figured since everyone has a bias I intentionally sought out both sides to hear other perspectives. Just in case I was missing something.

There are many reasons that I voted against Trump and for Joe Biden, law and order being one of the big ones, but at want to tell you Roses in September that one of the biggest reasons is that I recognize the importance of the United States to the world which is affected by the leader of this country. @@theperfectmix2 Honestly, it isn't even necessarily revolution if she tried it. If Queen Elizabeth, or any future UK monarchs for that matter, tried to take control of the greater commonwealth (she is technically the head of state of Canada, Australia, Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papau New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, The Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, and of course the UK) then most like then the UK would politely tell her "No, please go back to your gin and your corgis." whilst the rest of the commonwealth would promptly ignore that she said anything and go about their business as de facto sovereign nations. The Queen of England's power, outside of her cultural relevance and boost to tourism simply by existing, is purely de jure.

It's a shame that us Puerto Ricans can't vote for the president. All my life I've been raised to believe in a government that's elected by the people, but not my people. I want to thank all of you who've shown support. The situation in Puerto Rico is very complex due to a lack of education. Many people don't know how bad our economic situation is or what statehood entails. if they did, they'd understand how much we could benefit from being a state. And this last part is always my biggest gripe with our current situation; Puerto Ricans have FOUGHT AND DIED to protect the United States (and our island by default) and even though you accept our people into the Armed forces that keep you safe, SOME people turn around and tell us that we should be happy with our current arrangement "bEcaUsE wE dOn'T PaY taXes". Houses are reaching unsustainable costs again since the bubble burst in 2008. Even staples like eggs and milk easily cost 50% more than they did back in 2009. Yet, wages have stagnated. 90% of this country in every demographic are practically slaves in this country anymore because if you quit a job, you can't afford health insurance on the off chance you're in a car accident before you find another. Debt is rampant and used to keep people where they are, and I don't mean mortgage or car payment debt but credit card debt. Debt, FYI, makes people slaves. Debt means you owe more money than you have, essentially meaning you have less than NOTHING and are therefore worth less than nothing. Yet you still have to work, bunches of people working multiple jobs too and are still in debt. Sure, we might not be beaten, whipped, or raped by our employers anymore (for the most part), but we're still slaves.

@Batosai11489 Sure man, I’ll go into a few. First off, I’ll say that the video above covers many of my personal grievances so I’ll try to stick to things LegalEagle didn’t mention: 1. Several leaked documents indicate that Trump frequently charges the secret service for what essentially amounts to Golf trips, despite the fact that he once said he would be too busy to go golfing all of the time as the President. (See the PublicCitizen article on the subject for more info here) 2. He commits fraud almost like it’s fun for him (see his casino debacles and his blunder with Trump university) Somewhat related is his payment of hush money for various occasions to various people (the most popular being Stormy Daniels of course) 3. How about a little Perjury? Upon questions during the whole Mueller report situation, Trump said: “I do not recall discussing WikiLeaks with, nor do I recall being aware of Mr. Stone having discussed WikiLeaks with individuals associated with my campaign.” despite the face that multiple people associated with his campaign, including his deputy campaign manager said exactly the opposite. 4. His flagrant abuse of power is another big issue Obama had a bit of an issue with this too, but boy Donald has lapped him and continued down the road. Those are a couple smaller examples than what the vid mentions, I will also leave an article here however that details some other examples as well as the exact laws and US codes they violate: theintercept.com/2019/10/10/trump-crimes-law/

"Here, right matters." When Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman witnessed the illegal and unethical bribes and blackmail attempts by Trump and his administration upon the Ukrainian government, he knew he had to speak out publicly against this behavior. His father, a refugee that fled the horrors of the Soviet Union to protect his family, feared his son would lose everything he worked so hard for, and he expressed his concerns. Still, knowing the risk, the Lieutenant Colonel testified to Congress and the nation. In response to Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney's question, "...why do you have confidence that you can do that [testify] and tell your dad not to worry," the Lt. Col. explained, "Congressman, because this is America. This is the country I've served and defended, that all my brothers have served, and, here, right matters." Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell ensured Trump would survive his impeachment. As a result, with Trump still in the White House, the President punished the Lt. Col. and his brother who also served in the White House. He and his brother were removed from their staff positions on the National Security Council. It had the added effect of removing morally upstanding oversight from the inside of the upper ranks of the White House. In an NBC interview last month, Lt. Col. Vindman explained his later decision to leave the Army altogether. "Nobody told me that I had to leave," he said. "As a matter of fact, if the President were not to be reelected, for instance, I probably could've continued on, but that's a huge if. If he were to be reelected, the joke was that I'd end up in a radar station in Alaska." Senator Mitch McConnell, President Trump, and every Republican who voted to acquit Trump and/or defend him have proven to us that, under a Trump administration and a McConnell legislative and judicial branch, right does not matter. Your vote has the power to change that. If one wishes to hear more of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman's most recent interview, one may find the video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnuQeqKkqbylo5o

@@dcgreenspro 2:20 It is very disingenuous to call a non-disclosure agreement…hush money. Non-disclosure agreements are not illegal or else literally thousands businesses in the United States would be dissolved by now. 2:30 Was there any hard evidence that Micheal Cohen did all of those things under the command of the president? And specifically in regards to contributing to a presidential campaign as it is not illegal to make campaign contributions unless you are from another country. Let alone establishing intent to sabotage a rival’s campaign is very shaky. Especially considering that third parties have reportedly spied on trumps campaign. Where is the rule of law in those cases? 3:06 Trump didn't try to use that money to bribe anyone, that money was already going to Ukraine and trump simply talked to the Ukrainian president in a request to investigate reports of corruption which is not illegal. If you actually cared about or rule of law you would endorse trump trying to investigate claims of corruption. Especially since we now know that Joe Biden's son Hunter has been actually PROVEN to have taken money from certain Russian officials. Joe Biden also had influence in the Ukrainian government as he handled relations with Ukraine during Obamas presidency, under which time Hunter Biden was receive a large amount of funding for working as a board director for a Ukrainian-owned private energy company despite him not having required qualifications for said position. So it seems as if said investigations were well warranted. Very convenient to bring this topic of corruption up now even after we know for a fact know that Hunter Biden is involved with some corruption involving the Russian government. There were no threats of withholding funding. Even if it Trump definitively stated that he was going to of withhold funds from the Ukrainian government in exchange for aid in an investigation involving corruption with the previous administration doing so is completely within the president of the United States power if he believes it to be necessary to get rid of corruption. That is common practice in international politics; Countries can withhold funds from others for political gain. This includes such things as trade tariffs, taxing certain goods, and yes withholding funding. It was not a bribe, it was not black mail, there was and still is no evidence of such things and again even if there were any declarations of financial withholdings those claims wouldn't even fit the definition of a bribe in this context. Not even the U.S. senate had any evidence of bribes or blackmail hence why Trump was acquitted from those slanderous accusations. 3:33 The "whistle blower" lied about the contents on the Trumps call with the Ukrainian president, not only that but the whistle blower was also dangerously close to espionage while in the process of gaining said information. This wouldn’t be new since we know there have been cases of GOVERMENT OFFICALS spying on trumps campaign before, which you touch upon later. So yes the “whistle blower” deserves to be punished for this. There was no evidence of Trump having actually committed any of the crimes he was accused of like bribery or blackmail and thus he was acquitted as our legal system demands. 4:39 The F.B.I. director should have been fired because he colluded with the previously Obama administration to spy on Donald Trump’s campaign. Compare that to Trump who we now know never colluded with Russia just as he claimed from the start. There was no evidence that the trump foundation solicit illegal hacking for their personal gain or a political rival’s downfall. Not only that but he has also put into action several orders in regards to Russia’s involvement in international affairs in relation to other countries militaries. 6:35 Trump himself said that his bank account in china is old and had been shut down before he even became president in the most recent debate. Again not to mention Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden actually has recently been proven to have taken money from Russian officials for as of yet undisclosed reasons. 6:55 Trump had every right to disperse those protestors, there are limits to how people can protest and, blocking access to or from a government building is one of those limits. They shouldn’t have been protesting there in the first place. 7:02 On a whim?! People were being killed and buildings were being burned down and he calls that on a whim?! There were full blown riots happening in those cities, and so the Mayors of those cities’ asked the president for aid in quelling the civil anarchy. The National Guard was sent in to regain control and order in the city as any president is well within their rights to do. How can you be so disingenuous as to say that it was on a whim? 8:06 What trump says in a private conversation 15 ago with his friends in a situation where he doesn’t know that he is being recorded is far from an admission of sexual assault. You don’t know if it was actually true or just simple posturing between male friends in a private setting. Sure it’s a raunchy thing to say; you can even call him an asshole for saying it. But that is not an admission of sexual assault.
