Hi Johnny. As always this is a brilliant job. The painting work is awesome. I'm really impressed. All these weathering techniques are very good and useful for my incoming builds of my Corsair. Thanks again my friend for your patience, kindness and professionalism. Hope to see more videos like these ones. Have a good day and keep modeling on. Best regards from France. François

Thank you very much Mike! Most of the time I'm pretty sure how things will look, but, I wasn't so sure on my "hillbilly navy blue", but it all came together in the end, LOL. Take care and have a great week buddy!! Johnny

Hi Johnny, brilliantly done, really glad you chose the folded wing version as the hillbilly green does it justice as does all the hillbilly colour call outs you do, as you know I'm a big fan. The tamiya weathering pads remind me of eye shadow make up my mum used to use 😂. Stay safe, can't wait for Friday, enjoy your week my friend 👍

Hi Ian, really great praise my friend. I will endeavor to earn it. I think you're right, it looks like Tamiya patterned their weathering kits after makeup cases. In fact, you can find brushes very similar to Tamiya's on Amazon in bulk packs. I'm happy the colors turned out on our little Corsair, that's a relief! Thanks for watching, have a great week buddy!! Johnny

Wonderfull job done on this bird Johnny! Weathering came out spot on and you did good use of tamiya weathering powders (something i rarely see beeing used). Looking forward to see what you build next, thanks for sharing, take care and keep up the good work my friend!

Many thanks George, I rarely use the Tamiya weathering sets but they work really well and are very controllable unlike those loose pigment powders. I think I will start using them more often. thanks for watching, take care and model on my friend! Johnny

Beautiful. I'm about to start this kit soon, after about a 30 year hiatus. Your vids make it less intimating.

2 questions, it looks bigger than 1/48 ? And are them modeling books in the background or used for reference 🤔, thank you for your video, very cool to see someone my age 😀
@hillbillymodeling6 ай бұрын
Hey Mike, yes, it's 1/48 scale. The Corsair was, and still is, a large aircraft. Much larger than its common foe the Zero. As to those books, well it's a mix, one on machining and gearing ratios, a Hornady reloading manual, (for one of my other hobbies, lol) and the binders for the instruction manuals of all of my past builds on the channel. I still get questions about builds that I did three years ago on the channel and keeping these helps "jog" my memory when trying to answer those, LOL! It always seems that no matter how good my notes are on any build, there are things that I need help remembering! I'm happy that you enjoyed the build, thanks so much for tuning in, enjoy your weekend, take care and hope to see you next Friday! Johnny

Thanks Steve, I really enjoyed the Corsair, one of my very favorite plans of WWII. And, yes, I'll get around to it sometime. That particular kit has a full interior, so that's like building 3 models all in one, something I haven't committed to as of yet! Thanks so much for watching, take care my friend. Johnny
