Welcome to a new VoxChats interview! It was absolutely incredible to get to speak with Sabaton lead vocalist Joakim Brodén. We dive into how he became the singer of Sabaton, why an artist might be sick of their own songs even before they're released, what stands out most on Tour and of course Joakim's insights as a vocalist of two decades. It also wouldn't be an exaggeration to say he is one of the nicest people I've ever met so I truly hope you enjoy this interview!

Tommy is the singer of Reinxeed, Majestica and Memories of Old, plus he has a youtube channel where he does covers and such. I made a vocal range video for him and a range thread online, I've listened to and analysed all he's done. Probably the best songs to see from him would be: -Phantom Of The Opera (he sings both parts) and "You Raise Me Up - 1 Octave Higher" from his youtube channel. -Reinxeed-Reach For The Sky (absolutely insane) and "Freedom" -Symphony of Tragedy-Heroes of the World -Majestica-Father Time (really fun song but hard to get through singing wise) Pick any of these, impossible to be disappointed

Julia I am loving these interviews you have done, well done. This one with Joakim is hilarious and insightful at the same time...I bet he has a 1000 stories he could tell were there not a camera on him. I laughed when he said that as a live performer at first he sucked. Hard to imagine.

Joakim is such a great guy, not just a great musician, but also as a person. All his interviews I've seen are so relaxed, sometimes quite funny, non pretencious, no BS. Julia helped here, too. Mass media reporters should listen to her to see how an interview is done, she knows what and how to ask to make it interesting for us and not boring for the one she interviews. Good job, both of them!

You can see lot of parallels to metal bands in this day and in general. Especially bands from Europe, they are usually down to Earth people, and live for music. Joakim is in my eyes much like Emppu or Jukka Nevalainen in NW. Joking so much, keeping things light hearted. Never met Hannes or Tommy in person, but I'd imagine that group of guys are fun times to hang with. Thanks for this delightful interview Julia. Cannot wait you to throw next Sabaton reaction ASAP. It would be nice for you to look at the other guys in sabaton. So you can se their problem of finding decent singers. Tommy Johansson's you raise me up or phantom of the opera would be a good start. Joke's aside Joakim have the most suitable voice for the songs that Sabaton makes.

Hi Julia ..still loving this interview .:) ..also ..you really should take a look at Tommy ..at least inofficially (Tommy Johanssons YT channel or Majestica) ..Joachim are right on all counts ..Tommy, in my opinion, is the best singer i Sabaton ..but Joachim is the best singer for Sabaton ..that says a lot about the phenomenon Sabaton is . This kind of interviews reminds me of that time when there was no KZbin and a very slow internet... and that was the time when TV music channels were the main source of musical knowledge for people like me. Let me be a little nostalgic remembering what to me was THE BEST alternative music SAT-TV channel ever, the one that I had on my TV h24 day and (especially) night.... VIVA ZWEI! Julia here reminds me of my idol Charlotte Röche who did a lot of interviews to famous artists back then... As an Italian let Me thank Germany for giving us VIVA ZWEI.
