Great show guys and David, if you're able to, get some AC installed. I'm in Essex and got just one unit installed a few weeks back ready for the heat. It does a few rooms nicely but you could get it in your main room where you work. There's also no VAT on AC units in the UK and if you use it for heating in the summer it's really efficient compared to gas. Mine was £1350 for a large unit (that covers up to 35 sq metres) incl installation.

That "play for dreams" hardware is actually insane. To the contrary of what almost every single pundit said, in less than six months there was a precipitous drop in the Micro OLED price; people just keep changing the goal posts. If they get that HMD to the market at the price, this will be huge while other companies like LG (and others) are already claiming they can produce them at half the price RIGHT NOW! While , also, we have an eye-tracker that could be mounted in-device for less than 10 dollars. I remember that for the last 5 months how many people were claiming that those things were 10 years away. Everything is 10 years away, and then, someone just launch that thing in the next month, and then, people pretend nothing happened. The amount of things happening in the XR space hardware-wise is actually INSANE. Nobody seems to get that.

I do think the chatter was right when he said its mostly kids playing online games but not because its more popular with kids. For me i just don't play online games just because you get matched up with kids, that not only have faster react speed but the fact its just weird too. I have even heard parents in the background asking why they're child is playing with middle aged people and of course the fact you cant use profanities. So i think like minded people such as myself that refuse to play online games due to the age difference brings the concurrent players down. That goes both ways too where parents wouldn't want their child playing with some middle aged person. Its not major problems on flat screen since there are other methods of communication but in VR you really are stuck to using Voice. Really hope Meta can bring in a system to match up with similar ages or Steam for that matter.

Personally, other than fitness apps, I play Population One. Sure theres kids but i find its ok. I make an effort to make space for them and treat them as a person that wants to learn and grow. Often i go into yue training area which is also where new players are sent to after the tutorial. I've found sharing tips and tricks with young and old to be rewarding. Just me writing this reminds me of one of the reasons why i enjoy VR. A guy PinkPwnage, highlighted that these new people are the lifeblood to our multiplayer games (and VR AS A WHOLE) and encourages people to treat them as such. Profanities... Well i still swear -too much sometimes. sometimes I reduce it but i think I am generally the worst one in the group. I like to think i may make up for it by doing little ad hoc coaching/encouragement sessions/moments (kids or not). Maybe this is a tangent but either during or after an interaction with a kid i momentarily reflect on how a parent listening would be pleased they would be to hear a wholesome and kind interaction with a person somewhere in the world. Adapted Cliche: Be who you want to see in the world (including realities/actions communcated electronically, i.e., "VR", etc). No sermon intended... Just passionate about our community and everyone's contribution to it. Xo 😘

@ 59:41 : I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: You don’t HAVE to press the Digital Crown to make the app launcher appear! You can glance up at the Control Center icon, pinch, and in that menu, click the honeycomb-looking icon to make the app launcher appear. Apple obviously designed this for Accessibility options because not everyone can reach up to the Digital Crown. There ARE other ways of doing things on Apple Vision Pro, but you just have to find & use them to understand. Otherwise, you’re just confusing people.

@ 1:12:36 : the Apple ecosystem has Focus Modes. “Do Not Disturb” is the default, “nuclear option” of turning off all notifications. However, you can create custom Focus Modes that will only allow through notifications that you want, and block everything else. They can also be triggered by system events, and/or scheduled to occur at specific times of day. At the very least, you can create a custom “VR Mode” focus that allows through the notifications that you want.

When you check out the Somnium VR1, please don't just focus on the display alone like everyone else seems to be doing. Please dig into the rest of the offering, especially the support behind it. I was planning to buy the VR1 until discovering that the company has no refund policy for US customers. To my knowledge, that would make it the only VR headset on the US market without such a policy. That's a strange choice for a very premium priced headset. And seeing how Artur talks about this makes me concerned about how this company regards customers and views product support in general.

On paper in theory, sure. In practice, in most scenarios, it's more like 2x at best, and often not even that.
