this is brilliant i just ordered my quest and getting it tomorrow 😃and being overweight this is the content i need, as long as it gets the blood pumping it's a bonus ive been waiting to get into VR but all the others seemed like the film lawnmower man but this seems close to what we've always been promised

Awesome! The blood pumping is the key! Honestly, some games are very simplistic because it is running on cell phone tech. Still fun though. Some games are amazing. The feeling is just right in most games. It feels so good. Like you are really doing it. I swear playing minigolf I feel the ball being hit (I didn't mention it, but the controller shakes when you collide with things). Someday I hope to have a gaming pc to fully take advantage of what it can do visually. As a health professional I'll gently remind you that losing weight happens more in the kitchen than by exercise (much easier to eat 400Cal less than to work off 400Cal), but exercise has its own types of benefits. The workouts can be intense. Even the archery one, I couldn't hold a bow for more than 7 or 8 minutes straight at first. I really was sweating profusely and exhausted with sore arms for 2 days after boxing for 8 minutes. I had to build up the endurance and strength. I felt so good though. Getting stronger every week. Much less back aches too. Body feels lighter again like it did a decade ago. I wish you the best of luck and have fun! 90% of my exercise is now VR but I mix in some rehab type exercises and some weightlifting now and then. Check out my health education playlist for some rehab type exercises for the upper back, neck, and knees. LOL, the low back video has been on my list of things to do for 5 months now... I'll get to it....eventually.

Hello Brandon. Thank you for this relevant video. The ads are showing up on TV for VR units.

I've personally found that movement helps mitigate the motion sickness/ brain disconnect issue. I always prefer to actually turn my body over stick rotation, which I find uncomfortable and immersion breaking. Starting out with VR, I would walk in place as I moved in game to give my body that sense of movement. Also, I think a vr mat is probably the most useful piece of kit to have. It keeps me away from obstacles since I know that as long as I feel the mat under my feet I'm clear of hitting anything.

I just randomly found this fine video through the algorithm and when I heard you say: "GO BRANDON!" I was startled and thought I was going down some Trump rabbit hole. Then I noticed your name, lol. Unfortunate for you, like being called Karen from birth and suddenly it takes on a new meaning. In any case, just found that funny. Thanks for the review, have been considering this for my daughter this christmas to help her stay fit

Awesome. I never considered the anti-Biden slogan. I find the headset isn't a replacement for all exercise, but it is the source of 90% of my exercise. I still do some rehab-type exercises (check out my health playlist) to keep my neck and knee problems from coming back and it does feel good to sometimes go to the gym and lift some weights.

Yeah, I saw that the new packages on amazon include the new Batman Game. This review is after a year of ownership. I got asguard's wrath 2 when I bought it last year (actually I still haven't tried it yet). I really do get sick and unsteady to the point of falling over and throwing up in some games. Even the games with strong vignetting I'm a little unsteady afterwards with a bit of a headache - still worth it to play some games. I'm not willing to put myself through torture to condition myself to play games with controller movement or something like carve snowboarding. 95% of my use is exercise focused so game playing is sort of low on the priority list and there are enough games non-nauseating to keep me busy. I might be sensitive to this stuff. Floating in the ocean also will also make me unsteady the rest of the evening and I feel like my bed is rocking back and forth all night.

@@brandonramakko The way to get over VR sickness is to play until you start feeling sick and then stop completely until it goes away. Next time you play, you'll be able to play a bit more till you feel sick. Your tolerance will increase. Rinse and repeat until the time you can play without feeling sick is infinite.

A cautionary tale for current and prospective Meta Quest VR headset owners (for sim'ing or gaming): I'm on day 23 of Meta holding my Quest headsets hostage. I've been using Oculus/Quest devices from the day they started making them (10 years ago?), and I have not been required to give my date of birth to Meta in all this time. But they recently demanded my DOB under threat of disabling my Quests, and they made good on that threat 23 days ago. Meta can metaphorically brick your headsets, any time they want, and for any reason they want, and you will have no defense against it. Conclusion: Think carefully before you BUY anything from Meta; The thing you BUY will not be yours.

great info, yep they can change the terms of service at any time and you just have to take it or else. A similar story, I'm trained in sonography and when I bought my unit there was a subscription for cloud saving. They changed the terms of service and now the subscription is required for locally saving the images - a medical reporting necessity is to record images. Forced connection to wifi periodically and forced auto update and updates the firmware to only be compatible with the newest version. The companies are testing the boundaries of what they can get away with.
