These things are known on the Discworld ; that the Speed of Dark is faster than the Speed of Light. For is it not written that the darkness is always present before light is. Nearly as fast are lies - a lie can run around the world before the truth has gotten its boots on.
@justin92024 жыл бұрын
@@supreetkumar7604 I think what people fail to realize is that dark is both racing ahead in front of light and catching up behind light light takes a space that dark once filled therefore I would say that dark is actually faster because once the dark rushes in past the light then we have light again if light were faster than dark then the entire back side of the night sky would be have a faint glow around it because of the fact that darkness is always being pushed back from all these stars and everything so that would mean that darkness has to rush in in front of and behind the light giving it a faster speed

Sometimes you got to rethink old sayings such as "misery loves company". A way we know, is a person who is miserable likes to spread its misery to others to make the others miserable. Another example of misery loves company is a miserable person just badly NEEDS somebody to cheer him/her up ( which will extinguish or neutralize the misery). So of course darkness is waiting for light because Darkness has nothing and has/is always alone until 🌞LIGHT 💡🕯 comes about and changes all that by providing company and neutralizing loneliness✌

WRECKER 123 Can you go shopping at the speed of light? Will the mall's toilet become a Quasar after 4.6 billion years?
@thomasboys72167 жыл бұрын
Depends how many people take a dump in it. A quasar is an area of electromagnetic energy that forms around a supermassive black hole, like the one at the centre of our galaxy. It has a mass of 8.2×10^36 kg or roughly 4 million times the mass of our sun, so in order for the mall toilet to have a quasar around it, it needs to become a supermassive black hole. Now, according to wikipedia, an average human produces 128g of shit per day or approx 47kg over the course of a year. Current population of the earth is 7.4 billion people, so we're looking at 348 billion kgs of shit each year. In other words, if the entire population of the Earth used that one toilet for 23,560,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 years, it could potentially form a quasar. For scale, 4.6 billion years looks like this: 4,600,000,000. It'd probably result in a few blockages as well.

I'm quite sure that this man has probably written the script if he had been using one at all. If nothing else, he reads a lot and does a lot of research. But I wouldn't be surprised to learn that some of them are just from his head, no research because he already knows the topic well. And I've seen episodes of him alone filming, even filmed by himself in a hotel room for one episode. I'm fairly confident that he does all of, if not most of his own stuff. Maybe he has help with Mindfield, but I'm pretty sure that he doesn't get help, if nothing else, his special guests he brings on

thejerrymobile When you make the entire text bold without anything around it that isn't bold, the emphasis is removed. Sort of like how highlighting an entire page of a book doesn't add emphasis to anything, but rather removes emphasis from everything.
@thejerrymobile10 жыл бұрын
TheMetaright It's a difference of opinion, then. A comment isn't a long-form text; it's usually a single statement. A single statement can have specific emphasis compared to others. That being said, if all comments were bold for no reason you would be absolutely right and no comment would have any additional emphasis. I maintain that I am not emphasizing any particular part of my statement, but the statement itself compared to others I am, as well as those the surrounding commentators are making.

I'd like to add something: though it is good to not be too confident in your findings, overly submitting to questioning, makes you question yourself to the point of ignorance. People end up submitting then, to any authority that appears more knowledgeable. Instead of searching for themselves. Do not be overly confident, but the manner in which you grow confidence in both yourself and others, is the doubt of both yourself and others. Challenge yourself. Challenge the others. We are one.

+BollocksUtwat somebody has a word of the day calendar. What a fancy way of saying he uses easily conceivable examples to illustrate his topic. The irony of this statement is that you are using what appears to be an impressive vocabulary (usually a testament to intelligence) to describe how you like something because they make it dumb enough for you to understand....
@BollocksUtwat9 жыл бұрын
jtv9033 If that's your take on what he does then I'm afraid you've greatly misread it, in my opinion. He's not dumbing anything down, he's just exploring ideas in a broad way wherever they take him. Its the product of a curious mind. Its supposed to be a survey of possibilities and more importantly tying them together in ways many people wouldn't automatically consider. If you want to call that dumb then be my guest, but I think you're wrong. However it seems what you've done here is attempted to fashion a retort that identifies an irony in what I've said, but really its just you trying to find an excuse to attack my use of language, and why? I can't figure it out except that for some reason people are very uncomfortable with language, constantly trying to attack people with vocabulary as if they're pretentious. I find that all very odd in a channel dedicated to exploring ideas and not being bashful about it. Whats more this was a completely positive comment on my part and yet people still want to attack it. Thesaurus. Word a day calendar. You ever think some people don't need either regularly if they just use diverse language regularly? The only thing I risk is being understood better and then ridiculed for it for some reason.

Wrong. When you close your eyes for 10 seconds, you're completely aware of your surroundings, even more, your other senses apart from your sight get progressively more sensitive, which is exactly the reason why it's sometimes hard to fall asleep when you close your eyes and try not to think about anything until you fall asleep, because you progressively start getting alerted from every tiny sound your ears are capable to register, and every tiny feeling of something nearly weightless to nearly absolute zero, touching your face and tickling you, like a single hair string. *BUT* ! when you sleep, your eyes go through REM during sleep (rapid eye movement).

I've always felt like sunrise starts WAY before the weather apps and such say that it does over here (Netherlands) during summer. Now I know that I'm not crazy, and that it isn't simply light pollution either. There's simply only a few hours of astronomical twilight, which is already not truly dark, even less when there's a large moon out, and then we are already into nautical and civil twilight again.
@lordgarion514 Жыл бұрын
Sunrise is when the *Sun's* light is just getting to you. If you have a little light pollution, and a little Moon light at the same time, it's going to get lighter much sooner. But that's NOT all sunlight, so it's not sunrise.

I feel you. It's all about perception, you know what I'm sayin'? Just because the weather apps say it's sunrise don't mean it's not already been sunrise in your mind. Daaaamn, that's a mind-blowing way to put it, but I gotta say, wouldn't darkness always (already) be there, rather than getting there first?

CracksDhead Exactly; you cannot beat the finish line in a race, because the finish line is the point you must reach to finish the race.

ohhh that quotemakes more sense now! Things like that just go over my head sometimes in Pratchett books, it's nice when you realise the old guy always has a few more tricks up his sleeve

Something to rememeber about the lemon juice guy is that he didn't just run out to rob a bank without testing the disguise first. He tested it and verified it worked to his satisfaction. This only raises questions about what sort of test he performed.

@@salted3507, also never put two Minecraft dogs in skeleton costumes. Also never ask Chuck Norris to fight the black night. Both battles would take a while.
