Just getting back in the groove after a busy summer. Throwing Beer tankards is a way to sooth those hands while making a beloved drinking vessel.

After watching this video seemingly a hundred times, today I threw two nice Tankards! The second one is 8 inches tall. I followed your steps, step by step....as if I could 'hear' you in my head. I find your instruction to be very helpful! I found the hand positioning when centering and 'chasing the water up' when pulling to be key to my success. Also compressing the bottom is going much better! Thank you! Please post more! 😊

How do I get one of those rubber band thingies??? Love your techniques!
@Vsmithpots
@Vsmithpots 2 жыл бұрын
I designed it and made them myself from wood, then i got Freddie Moretti to do a 3D printed version. He has a youtube channel too. It is easy to make from wood and the rubber band is from Laguna clay bags, but any wide rubber band would work. I will show it again in a video in March.

I use B-mix5 but it does not do well above cone 5. #80 from Laguna is a nice dark red clay.

Hi Vaughan the toll you used to smooth the top of the mug,is it made from an elastic band thankyou
@Vsmithpots
@Vsmithpots 4 жыл бұрын
Yes it is the Laguna elastic bands they seal clay bags with. I made mine from wood and Freddie Moretti took it and used a 3D printer to make one, I assume the softer the rubber band the better.
