After all these years, I finally understand why Biff was dying in the future after coming back from the past. When I first saw this, I didn't really understand why he was dying when he returned; I thought he was just having a heart attack during time traveling back to 2015. The deleted scene made it so much clear that he was dying because his existence was fading due to changing the past. This may have been obvious to a lot of people without this scene, but my young brain at the time didn't connect the relationship.
@TheCardsharp4 жыл бұрын
@@capella5783 - Whoah, you know what? Actually, that's EXACTLY what I thought initially. It's been so long since I've seen the movie that I forgot this was the conclusion I initially came up with after seeing that scene. I first saw this movie when it came out December 1989 on Cape Town. And after many multiple viewings I always thought biff had hurt himself coming back in the time machine. I mean if they intended him to die by altering the past did his hectic millionaire life style cut his life short?
@natalieps23874 жыл бұрын
@@vincentvanwyk5522 I read that lorraine killed him in 96. I also wish I could read the original script where doc & marty go to 1967 bc that's when biff would inherit 20 grand to bet with. Marty winds up on jail & for some reason lorraine bails him out. He endangers his existence again bc George was away at grad school at Berkeley. It's the year b4 Marty is born so without the money she cant go visit George where they conceived marty. Zemeckis didnt like it bc it was a retread of Marty again interfering with his birth. Also it was only 12 years after marty met lorraine & she may have remembered him as opposed to 30 years going by which would cloud ur memory even more. She is seen with Marty's brother & sister who are 4 & 2 years old.
@kevinkent63514 жыл бұрын
The whole scene is a paradox on multiple levels. The most obvious paradox is that Biff wouldn't have been able to return the DeLorean to the correct 2015 timeline. There are endless minor paradoxes, such as going to a future point in time where your future self is (since you go to the future from a past point in time, your future self will have remembered that you traveled in a time machine 30 years prior to that point in time). But whatever--it's a fun movie and you just have to suspend disbelief for a bit.
@martyklestadt67663 жыл бұрын
@@kevinkent6351 Not sure about the minor paradoxes, but as for the major one, it was indeed the Alternate 2015 that Biff returned the Delorean to. It changed around Doc and Marty. The outside of that neighborhood wouldn't look any different in the alternate 2015 as it did in the prime 2015. But like you said, suspension of disbelief is still necessary.

I totally agree. And way back when I first saw this movie, I wasn't sure why old Biff was doubled over seemingly in alot of pain. Soon after when I saw the deleted scene of old Biff dissapearing, I realized. Another thing, and this is about the ripple effect on why 2015 didn't change into the alternate 2015 when Marty and Doc got into the DeLorean and left after old Biff returned, and why 2015 still didn't change even when old Biff vanished. A theory on that is based on what I read somewhere about alternate future rich Biff having been shot and killed in 1986, one year after Marty was there and almost got shot by him. According to the ripple effect, old Biff vanished before 2015 itself changed because Biff died in 1986, 29 years before 2015. In other words, the ripple effect had only reached 1986 at the time Marty and Doc left 2015. If rich Biff died in 2000, for example, old Biff wouldn't have faded until a little while after Doc and Marty left because that would've been when the ripple effect had reached 2000. And the neighborhood itself changing wouldn't happen until the a while after that when the ripple effect reached 2015. This is just a theory though, but it helps explain why the 2015 neighborhood still looked the same when old Biff faded.
@alvexok5523 Жыл бұрын
@@akaijuinomaha5324 That's right. He was already sensing that the 1985 Marty was there, and it especially clicked in his mind when he saw "2 Marty Jrs", and was finally confirmed to him when overhearing Doc talking to Marty about the time machine. And he heard Marty's betting idea and decided to steal it, and the DeLorean. Also, see my above reply on what I think of the ripple effect.

I heard that the writers (Bob & Bob) wrote it also to keep Crispin on his marks for camera, which he'd often miss during the first film production.

Technically in 1955 there were four channels, the little-known DuMont network folded in 1956, leaving the Big 3.

The moving fruit plate resembles an indoor herb garden like we have today. People were eating more organic foods starting in the 2000's. Plus they were drinking kale tea, I think. Plus teenagers talking on devices or watching shows on devices and not talking to parents was a sad prediction too for 2015.

MagCo Studios .... I am a boomer baby! 1956! ... Ya we played outside was fun! And we watched TV 📺 too. It just wasn't glued to our head! ... Lol 😆 and it was probably more fun in our day because games you played needed a partner or few people! Now everyone just gets online! You still can play games together but in different states! 😲... Lol 😆

Why was it necessary to cut these wonderful scenes? I love the Back to the future trilogy!
@AstrosElectronicsLab4 жыл бұрын
Scenes are usually cut from films for several reasons: 1) time - to keep the time of the film down, 2) not important to the main story line, 3) doesn't work technically, 4) changes the dynamic or mood of the film, 5) doesn't make sense and/or 6) is too over the top (gory/sexual/dramatic/scary/etc.).
@AstrosElectronicsLab4 жыл бұрын
And also flow, like part of a scene is cut because it either changes or otherwise affects the flow of the scene.
