VVVVVV - cancelled version of a Commodore 64 conversion

VVVVVV saw a stunning #Commodore64 conversion in 2017, but there was also another version by Paul Koller also in production. Paul's version was seemingly cancelled when the other edition was released, but you can thankfully still play his version:

were there any other ports of this game? I got it on a modern pc because I'm a lucky boy.

I think there's been quite a few for different platforms over the years. The C64 ones are the only versions i'm familiar with.

wow, sadly after watching another fully released conversion of this for the C64 this one really does seem to have been on the best track ignoring the weird room color randomizer (I assume it's for optimization but it looks terrible) the movement and collision detection is way smoother and a lot of the sprites are more accurate. I'd really love to see a retro conversion of this game that is accurate enough to be passable with no major glaring flaws. I feel like that should be possible
