Makes perfect sense. This is why in a waste spark system when you get a misfire due to a bad coil it will affect two cylinder at the same time. 👍

This is good info. I've got the later model and was pleasantly surprised when placing new cables that all I had to do was count from 1 to 4. Drastically reducing my chances of fudging up. :D

Thomas! Can you use later 4 coil on earlier? I've seen slot of Waste spark info lately that use individual coil packs, seeming to want more power to individual cylinder instead of Sharing.

I assume that cars with older styles coils would wear the spark plugs faster would that make any sense ? It’s funny that VW went for the older coils on the mk6 Jetta 2.0 L 8 v engines.

Yes... on opposite poles. VW must have some left over ECM's that they need to use! LOL

Sure. Electric contact cleaner spray. Use a bristle brush to agitate any corrosion.

One would think that the coil would have numbers to match the cylinders instead of using letters. Of course, you wouldn’t be a German engineer if you used numbers. Good info to know! 😀👍
