VW Bug 4 x 4!

This video is a bit of a throw-back to what we did a lot of before moving to Alaska. The VW is a 1967 originally purchased in Austria. Brought back to the states where it became everyone's first car and general farm vehicle. Unfortunately I deemed it not fixable due to the rust and Mounted the body to a 1990 Suzuki Samurai chassis instead. It was a huge hit at any off-road event. We did not get to bring it with us. It's in storage and will hopefully make the trip someday soon!

Very very coll. You did a great job on the VW, I've always loved the old VWs. In my younger days I had a 1967 VW Bus with the split windshield and the sliding side windows and the heat came off the engine, which was still cold in the Winter, lol. What is your plans for this VW?

Thank you so much. I actually took the heater from the Suzuki for heat in this one. Much better. The plan is to get it up to Alaska at some point and keep driving it.

Awesome car I have a 64 I have been wanting to do something similar. What frame did you use. I have a 87 s10 blazer I have been thinking about using. Have a good day

We used a 1989 Suzuki Samuri frame. Had to stretch it and use 1" wheel spacers the get the stance correct. Stretched it 14"
