You were supposed to rebuild the injector pump, not buy a new one!! Great price though. Was really looking forward to seeing a pump rebuild. Keep up the great work

There are no good workshops who rebuild old injection pumps, and even if i found one... Would have costed more than 200euros xD it was a really good deal

@@upcyclethepastutp9901 there's a bosch certified shop an hours drive from me. Its $1400 canadian to have it rebuilt. Though I can order a reman one from the US for around $700.

Yes. I am not 100% certain, but I am 99.999999% certain it is the same engine.

I really like your enthusiasm towards this project. I wish I could help with some equipment. I like the effort you put in, in line with your budget and what I expect the finished car will look like. Here in the States the no nonsense approach has taken off. Nothing against the finely done restores and I'm glad to see those as well, but I guy doesn't have to break the bank to have something nice. Daily drivers don't have to be perfect, just safe. Good luck with the car and channel!

The non-turbo 1.5/1.6 have such mechanical purity. No reason a 1977 engine IF OILED AND SERVICED REGULARLY shouldn't do 500,000 km if you stay in the rev band 1,800 to 4,200. A marvel of Audi design.

Having seen "a million" of the Hagerty engine restore videos I have noticed they use a lot of grease (and locktite) on nuts and bolts. Is there any reason you're not?

Well, i don't really use locktite ever... on cars like this if you don't have a lifetime of experience like the Hagerty guys you don't really want to locktite stuff cuz you might have to redo something in the future ... if tightened right the bolts should stay tight for a long time, especially on cars which are used rarely like this one will be :)

Salutari, mersi ca urmaresti canalul meu. Nu am postat ca m-am ocupat de un alt proiect care trebuia terminat mai repede, un beetle din 69. Cand revine caldura ca sa pot lucra pe caroserie revin cu clipuri. Trebuie o temperatura de +10 grade ca sa pot vopsi si lucra pe caroserie... Pana nu termin caroseria sunt blocat cu proiectul. Daca as avea si masina intr-un spatie inchis sa pot face cald era mult prea fain !
