Hi I would normally just fit new NGK plugs (standard ones) and re-fit normal leads, but on this car the leads were more than due for renewal so we upgraded the leads with a Performance set which were purchased off ebay. Leads were made to order so always check they are the correct ones you need and/or check with seller, March 2019 price £20 a set please see here; www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RED-8MM-PERFORMANCE-IGNITION-LEADS-FIT-VW-GOLF-MK2-1-3-1-6-1-8-GTi-MK3-1-6i-1-8i/121051013238? thanks.

What did you screw on the spark plugs?

Hi the small spark plug caps ('removable Terminal Nuts') I have fitted come with some replacement spark plugs but not all. I think it depends on the vehicles so if a vehicle has them to start with then the replacement spark plugs should usually come with them on them. In this case the replacements I have used were probably spares I had from a set I fitted to another car that did not need them rather than the set for this car. They are a standard size so all car shops should sell them. www.ngk.com/spark-plug-terminal-types

No sorry! I just replaced like for like. Sometimes the parts are numbered, other times it's a case of looking in the books, but I no longer have any. ..or the car. Thanks.

Hello , what kind of spark plugs u have on this engine ?
@DavidHarold3 жыл бұрын
Hi, great question. We had that golf some years and changed the plugs a few times, so I thought I would have at least 1 plug photo on file, but can't find one anywhere and no longer have any paperwork or Haynes manuals to confirm the specs or part numbers either. I am sure they would have just been the standard NGK (or Denso) ones for this engine though,. Eurocarparts seems to list Bosch, Denso and NGK. They even list some Iridium Denso for cheap money at the moment but showing none in stock near me in Manchester, probably just the end of a clearance line. Iridium Denso are what we would like in our Polo R-line, but that don't seem to have a compatible one for that car, so will fit Iridium NGK later this year. Bosch are a big seller in any spare plugs, but we have never had much luck with them over the years. It's all a case of personal choice along with finding ones that will fit. Thanks
