Bjorn, the last weekend (April-11) I had the opportunity to drive the ID.4 for first time here in California. The closer dealer to home sent me an e-mail about the people with reservations and a special event to test drive the car. Thanks to your videos, my knowledge of the car was more than the dealer employee. Because laws by the USA, there is no bottom in the truck to get the trailer coupling, here is set to place the accessory in a hole. The double glass noise reduction from the two from seat is not there, neither for the 1st First Max edition or PRO. I like the crystal glass roof; I did not reserve the car with that option but my wife like it. About the feedback about the driving are the following: 1.- The car feel heavy but with good speed and reaction, these compared with Tesla model 3, model S or e-Golf cars (the only electrics cars than I drove until now). 2.- The noise insulation on the road (highways) is amazing, almost nothing, is like be over very good pavement. 3.- Feel solid, no internal noises, no loose parts, feel like a very luxury car, well finish. 4.- The radio bottoms and the controls respond in good way; I will prefer the dials on the e-golf than the digitals controls by the ID.4 in special the doors dial bottom to move the mirrors. The ID.4’s dial is too soft, I guess they will change that in the future. It is easy to be confuse (during the day light) about the dial position.

Just a side note: going back and forth does not fully eliminate the increased consumption caused by headwind. The wind sock flew horizontally, which indicates a wind speed of approx. 30 km/h (or higher). A wind speed of 30 km/h parallel to the driving direction would increase the energy consumption caused by air drag by approx. 11%/6% (compared to a calm) when driving at 90/120 km/h there and back again on the same route.

Is it an ID 3 or an ID4? The title says ID3 and Bjorn says ID4. I think 500km is a psychological barrier for some people, some BEVs having a range of 452km is a little confusing. Stating a range of 500km makes a difference. I don’t think it will be too long before we see 1,000kms in a regular family car. Exciting times people and the VAG group have some fantastic BEVs to chose from and many more on the way.

Can you possibly do video's on real world range with having 3-4 adult passengers in the ID3 and ID4 please? And also maybe with luggage in the boot or on a roof rack? Anything over 400 KM is a good range for Europe i think. IMO car manufacturers should focus more on making the batteries last longer and keep the charge line flat as match as they can.
@MacGuyver853 жыл бұрын
Lower consumption and bigger batteries mean fewer cycles and thus longer lasting batteries. A flat charging curve is a sign the charging power is lower than it can be and thus not desirable.
