Yes I've been getting that question almost daily lol. My mk2 vr6 and mk2 1.8t are completely different cars. Totally different driving experience. Getting them both dialed in before I do the MK2 Vs Mk2 video

Absolutely and to be honest, to each their own really… it’s a question that really has 100 answers lol. Thanks for watching Jake, appreciate the support as always! Cheers

I love your work and your garage. I wish your channel many and varied success and growth, especially financial. I fell in love with Volkswagen when I was brought to kindergarten by my uncle in a VW Bug. And now I love the performance and aesthetics of these cars. Keep up the good work.

I'm really looking forward to this build! I just was given a 84' rabbit convertible for free hasn't ran in 10 years. This is a swap id love to do in the future. It's an automatic right now so I'd be swapping in a manual at the same time. Love the videos!

The AWW is perfectly fine. It only differs from the AWP by the stock 150hp tune, vs a stock 180hp tune. Further, being mated to an automatic, that makes is even more likely to be a good example to work with. As long as its been even half way decently maintained, its a great choice of a donor to work with.

Thanks I really appreciate that! And yes this should be a great swap candidate! Thanks for watching, truly appreciate the support!! Cheers

Curious on your thoughts but everything I was hearing on 1.8t swaps was use a 1.8t from a b5 audi would make things a lot easier. Looking forward to the episode on the track in Mission. Cheers
@MysteryGarage3 жыл бұрын
Ya getting the VR out to mission will be awesome! Seriously looking forward to that!! Episodes on that coming soon! Funny you ask that, there are actually a crazy amount of variations on the 1.8t with seemingly endless minor changes between models and options that I’m sure there are a lot of opinions on a lot of different sources. I know intake direction and throttle actuation are big factors too. Appreciate the support! Cheers!!

The 1.8T is a great engine, my best engine for the mk1 has to be a 2.0 16V with 170-/+ easy to wire in, the 020 can just about handle the power/torque, I'll be interested to see what your opinion will be once you have all 3 (16v, VR6 1.8T) done and can evaluate each car. Keep up the great content.

Your so right, there’s just something about a 16v!!! Love it!! Appreciated the support as always, always watching for your next drop too! Cheers!!

I know I know, it’s still here, I’ve just swapped focus for a month or two as we move into summer I really want to get the cars that are streetable up to speed first so I can enjoy them WHILE I work on stepchild in the future! Don’t worry, it will make a comeback soon enough! Appreciate the support as always!! Cheers

Hahaha it’s here, posted pics of it on the Instagram last week. Unfortunately it’s going to be another deep build so I’d like to get Step Child a little closer to the street before we jump back into another deep project! Stay tuned for more on it to come though! Probably the build I look forward to jumping into the most! Appreciate the watch and thanks so much for the support! Cheers

Transmission was bad because of "lifetime transmission oil" the self-fulfilling prophecy of VW marketing.

Hahaha ya can’t say I’m fond of anything automatic ESPECIALLY in these earlier cars. However they make fantastic donors lol. Thanks for watching! Appreciate the support as always!!

Guys, I’m in some need of help, I got a 92 cabriolet that I have owned since 2002. I’m in the process of restoring it, this past year I dropped close to 2 grand in the engine, parts, ac unit, steering rack, etc. Send it for body work, painted original color, installed a new top, once it came out of paint, the computer went out, got a hold of another computer, and then the fuel pump went out. I’m getting to the point of frustration, and I’m considering of swapping engine other than trying to figure out what is causing for the computer to go out. I wanted to try to get a vr6 for it, but with this video, I think it would be best for a 1.8t. My question is the new 2.0t engines, I don’t know what to do
@MysteryGarage3 жыл бұрын
Hahaha oh man I’ve been there before! Don’t give up now you sound so close to everything being replaced! Be a shame to just walk away from all that work and start again from scratch. The other thing is too, some of these problems may follow you into the next swap too so it won’t exactly always be a way to get away from it! I say keep at it!! Good luck!! Thanks for watching! Cheers
