VW MK4 Bora/Jetta VR6 Project EP6 - Clutch Kit/Gearbox Install + FIRST START!!

I continue with the reassembling process but this time it's the clutch and gearbox!
I installed an ACS Dual Mass Clutch Kit with all new hardware and fresh fluids!
Finally get it back together enough to give it a first start but it didn't go to plan!
Will it run? You'll have to watch to find. out!

Did you have enough clearence to drop the box by just using wheel stands?

@@apbuilds1519 Ok I've got a v5 Bora that has a slipping clutch. Do you thinjk it's possible to do the clutch off the ground using stands. Did you have to tilt the engine? How many hours do you think it would take?

@DrSiB0T I used an engine support beam, which sits from either side of the chassis with a chain hooked onto the engine so I can tilt it in a controlled manor

Is it difficult to switch from a 5 speed to a 6 speed at all? I know I have to change a couple things.

@gingerbread417 not too difficult but you would basically need to swap the box, clutch kit, cables, and possibly axles too

Will the Audi tt mk1 transmission 5 speed fit into a 2000 Jetta 2.8 vr6?

@jesusvazquez9726 I don't believe so, it needs to be from a VR6 engine to be compatible

That short pipe coming off the SAI with the big filter on it. Is it supposed to go anywhere or just to atmosphere? Also is it supposed to be loose on the inside? I'm getting a code for incorrect flow and struggling to find the issue.

It seems to just hang there. It has a filter in the end. From the pictures I've seen online it has a ball inside. Maybe try taking yours apart? The filters can be replaced too if need be.

Will the VR6 manual transmission fit on the V5 Engine?

Technically yes, being the V5 box has the same bell housing as the V6 box but I'd say the gear ratios will be different and possibly the driveshaft cups could be different as I've never personally checked both.

@ru-jeanizaaks1290 if you're going from Auto to manual, then definitely get yourself some new driveshafts to match the gearbox 👍 then you'll be golden

@@apbuilds1519 Thanks for the reply. I'm a bit stuck I am about to do my V5 it has a 10 bolt vr6 crank flywheel but I've bought a 228mm clutch kit with a 6 bolt flywheel. Do you know if I get a vr6 flywheel for an old corrado will it work with my 228mm clutch? It's for a 5 speed 02j gearbox

This engine is a 2.8 VR6
