I wish Volkswagen put the Nardo into production. Even if it were in limited numbers. It would've really helped the Volkswagen image because the average person has no idea that Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley and most of all, Bugatti are all owned and built by Volkswagen.

I would even argue that in realm of supercars it might be easier to convince people to buy extrodinary vehicle from ordinary brand than in the realm of luxury limousines, where the badge plays significant role. As far as this car goes it seems to me like a bit of a stepping stone betwen Bugatti EB 110 and Veyron (ignoring the VW badge altogether).

This is was the true predecessor to the Veyron. After buying Bugatti in '98, VW studied Bugatti's massive engines, and then figured out how to make their own supercar. The Nardo W12. But of course no one would ever take VW seriously if they were to truly pursue the lofty goals of supercar royalty. So make a kick ass supercar, but give a name that everyone knows. Bugatti Veyron.

Sadly, no you couldn't and your friend who supposedly bought the first 2016 Continental GT, if such a thing happened, didn't get any sort of special treatment. They don't just have the tooling available to throw a W12 Nardo together. Also, model years for cars usually debut midway through the prior year, so most 2016 models came out in mid to late 2015. The Continental GT has basically been the same car since 2011, anyway, aside from special trims and models.

I can just smell the clutch as this guy maneuvers the Nardo around. Seems like a very fussy car at low RPMs but probably a monster at speed.

Tbf its a prototype, a late stage near finished prototype but a prototype none the less, not to mention how old the car us and wasnt driven often, so the parts are not in their best condition, maybe with a little more maintanance and some adaptations it would run really smoothly.

in 2002 this road car sets 7 world recods, one is 24h hours run at Nardo (Italy) biiiig oval cours with a average speed of 324 km/h. The other is lil bit over 350km/h top Speed for hours (instrument cluster is till 320) in black this car looks stunning clean!

It's a prototype - maybe the clutch is not as smooth as it should be on a production model and it looks like this was the first start in the morning- some things work better when they have been warmed up.

to comments below: if he doesn't give put fuel immediately through the system after starting the engine would just stall. he has to give to juice so it doesn't just shut off over and over, like what happens near 1:00. it has nothing to do with his clutch work. this car, being driven sparingly, probably has issues getting to idol and even though 600 hp doesn't sound like much, a base 2005 mustang v6 only mades 200 hp and this car is probably from the late 90's making 300hp for each NA 6 cylinder. thats like getting 500 hp from a na v8, which just recently the hellcat achieved. this car was a true performance marvel and would be difficult to operate 'slowly'
