VW Polo Copart Salvage Rebuild Project PT 1

In this video we take the transporter to Copart Sandwich to collect our latest project.
Working at our fully equipped workshop in Kent we carry out tasks including Panel beating, Body work, Mig Welding, Sheet metal Spot Welding, Fabrication, Chassis Repairs, Sand Blasting, Engine and Mechanical repairs, Reconditioning, Restoration and Structural repairs on the Celette Jig Dozer frame machine.

I can see most of the questions are about the fork lift. I have had 100s of cars loaded by forklift and never had more than the odd scratch. The forks are extra long and go all the way through they also pick them up under the rear axel and front subframe and they are the lowest part under the car as you could hear in the video the driver lowered the forks to the ground and dragged them out so not to scrape under the car. Seeing that they use those forklifts exclusively for carrying vehicles, can't someone make a pair of forks that have strong rubber tops that won't slide off?

These Polos are pretty solid and long lasting. This one is ten years old now, and will probably go on for another decade or more. So well worth repairing. You should get a good price for it and your work, as cars like this are always in demand by discerning buyers.

Not sure if I'm the only one, but I hate seeing cars loaded with a fork lift especially when the car drives! The fork lift driver didn't seem to take that much care either! There must be times it creates more damage underneath. Looks a really nice car lads and I'm sure it will soon be mint again when you have finished! Great vid as always!

After watching your project on the vw polo ,it gave me the motivation to tackle my 2011 polo diesel.Not as though it needed it but gave it a total front suspension/steering,brake calipers-pads rebuild.,all new parts..also cleaned the injectors and fitted new coils...drives like new...planning same to the rear before autumn Thank you for giving me a much needed kick up the ****

I'm having a Polo in the exact same spec myself! After 6 years of owning and loving it, it is now up for sale with pain in my heart. Did some mods to it, like coilovers, GTI grille, etc. Gonna miss it much!

I really enjoy the smaller sub-assembly repairs in detail. If you are short of projects you could fill out a bit with refurbs of the components suck as a clutch or springs or whatever. I for one would enjoy that.

The beauty of VAG parts is they are interchangeable between platforms, Seat/Audi/VW. which means you get loads of spares at bargain prices. Kent auto salvage used to be VW specialists ( I don’t know if the still are) they were very helpful with me when I was working down there for parts on my caddy van. Not sure if your car has cruise control. If it doesn’t ,it’s a very cheep and easy retro fit. Might be a good little section to put in on the rebuild.
