That could very well be true.

Just to let you know this video is still helping. Watched it and replaced part with confidence, used G-clamp instead of grips and slowly tightened until it popped into place. Thank you!

This video is great really nice and clear to understand. Don't suppose there is a similar video for the second adjuster 👍

As soon as the other one crumbles, and it will, I will make a video of the repair.

Cheers. I am fitting a new wiper motor next week as the wipers no longer park, just stop dead wherever they are when you turn them off, swapped out the relay but no luck so assume it is the park switch in the actual motor. Got a Topran motor new for £20, so it is not going to break the bank. I'll make sure I film it.

I didn't bother with the adjuster - I've replaced mine both sides with a nut and an oversized washer. Slacken the nuts off to adjust, tighten (by hand) both sides to lock in place. Quick, easy, cheap fix!

It was only yesterday I found out that the reason my light was Pointing at the sky was because of adjuster crumbling so, thank you for your video 👌🏻

Glad it helped. I wish I had filmed the replacement of the other adjuster (vertical), it is a little more difficult to push into place but it is possible.

I like videos! Have you ever done anything on the central locking? I have had the van 10 years and it has never worked, I am not sure where to start on it, the door modules are expensive. any ideas?
@T4TipsGuides5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I have had the drivers door stripped down to replace the torsion spring in the lock mechanism, it is a fairly simple set up, I have never seen the central locking setup though, I have a friend who has an 888 Special TDi T4 with central locking, I will ask him next time I see him if he has ever done work on the central locking. My van in a 1999 built late 1998 so although it has to newer "blue" clocks and steering wheel it does not have the brake pad sensors or central locking, but it is less to go wrong I suppose. But if you have it and it isn't working, and if you are anything like me, curiosity will get the better of you eventually and you will have to look into it. I have had my van 13 years now, the park switch in the wiper never worked so I have to time when I switch them off as they just stop without going to the bottom of the screen, I have just found a replacement motor for £20 new so will get around to that this month. I think one of the tracks inside wears out after a few years. I also had a problem with the intermittent setting but that turned out to be a relay issue and is now working again after being replaced.
